2020-21 NBA Finals Betting Tips: Game 3
Phoenix Suns at Milwaukee Bucks
Fiserv Forum, Monday 10am AEST
The second game of the NBA Finals felt extremely similar to the first with the Suns dominating the middle portion of the game to make for a relatively comfortable fourth quarter. They did their job by taking care of home court advantage in the opening two games to take a 2-0 series lead, but the Bucks will now have their chance to play in front of a raucous crowd in Milwaukee for Games 3 and 4 where they’ll look to get back in the series.
The Suns got great production out of both All-Stars in Devin Booker and Chris Paul again in Game 2, with the pair combining 54 points after combining for 59 in Game 1. DeAndre Ayton had his first quietish game for some time with just 10 points, but Mikal Bridges filled the void with a playoff career-high 27 points. Unfortunately, Torrey Craig suffered a leg injury in Game 2 and will join Dario Saric on the sidelines after being ruled out for the remainder of the series.
The Bucks gave the Suns a few different looks on the defensive side of the ball in Game 2, but they still weren’t able to get enough stops to give themselves a chance to win. Jrue Holiday was solid with his defence but struggled mightily shooting the ball (7-21 FG), joining Khris Middleton (5-16 FG) as key players that simply have to score the ball at a far better clip moving forward. On a positive note, Giannis Antetokounmpo looked back to his dominant best in Game 2 with 42 points to go along with 12 rebounds.
It’s do or die for the Bucks in Game 3 on Monday because a loss will see them go down 3-0, which is a deficit no team has ever come back from in NBA playoffs history. The good news for the Bucks is that they return home where they’ve proven very hard to beat both in the regular season (26-10) and in the playoffs (7-1) this campaign. It may seem tough to jump off the Suns after two fairly dominant wins in the first two games of the series, but playing at home will make the world of difference for the Bucks and we expect them to get back in the series with a good win in Milwaukee on Monday.

There are plenty of value options to take in the player markets for Game 3 and we’re more than happy with the three we have selected. First up we’ll be backing in Chris Paul to continue his form scoring the ball with at least 20 points, which he has now down for four straight games. Secondly, we’ll be taking Khris Middleton to score 25+ points, which he had done in three straight games until he was held to just 11 points on 5-16 shooting in Game 2. Lastly, we’ll be including Giannis Antetokounmpo to secure at least 12 rebounds. The Greek Freak is averaging 14.5 rebounds through two games this series and we expect more of the same now that he’s spending a lot more time playing at centre.
- Chris Paul 20+ Points
- Khris Middleton 25+ Points
- Giannis Antetokounmpo 12+ Rebounds
