We’re now around 2/3 of the way through this exciting NBA season, which means wins are becoming vital for those teams hovering around the playoff picture. Here, we run you through our best bets from some of the key value games in the huge upcoming slate on Tuesday!
NBA Betting Tips: Tuesday, 30th of March
Minnesota Timberwolves at Brooklyn Nets
Barclays Center, 10:30am AEDT
Minnesota Timberwolves pulled off a huge fourth quarter comeback against the Rockets two games back to secure an unlikely win; however, they were beaten convincingly the following day by that same squad. It’s been another really tough season for the Timberwolves and it’s hard to see how they win many more games from here.
Brooklyn Nets now almost have a completely new roster to the one they started the season with and it’ll be interesting to see how it pans out. They come into this off a win over the Pistons, which made it an impressive 17 wins from their last 20 games.
The Nets certainly have their fair share of injuries at the moment, but they’ve still been performing at a high level as long as one of their superstars are on the floor. James Harden has been that guy of late and he’s playing at an MVP calibre level. With Kyrie Irving predicted to come back for this game as well, we have the Nets crushing the Timberwolves in Brooklyn.
Looking at some player props for this game and there are a few that tickled our fancy; however, we’ve decided to land on Anthony Edwards to eclipse his points line. The reigning #1 pick has put up a minimum 16 shots in each of his last 14 games, scoring 21+ on 10 occasions. Getting even money for him to do it again looks like great value in our opinion.
Prop: Edwards O20.5 Points ($1.80)
Brooklyn Nets -11.5

New Orleans Pelicans at Boston Celtics
TD Garden, 10:30am AEDT
New Orleans Pelicans have been an interesting team to follow this season as you never quite know what you’re going to get. They haven’t won more than four games in a row all campaign, but have still shown the ability to beat the top sides when they’re on song. They still have it all to do if they’re to feature in the post-season, but they’re certainly not without a shot.
Boston Celtics have been nearly the biggest disappointment of all teams this season, which is saying something because there have been some shockers. Despite boasting two genuine stars in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the Celtics have struggled to stay above .500 for much of the season.
As disappointing as the Celtics have been, they’re still seventh in the East and look like they may finally be starting to hit their straps. They come into this off two comfortable wins against the Thunder and the Bucks and are well poised to make it three on the spin with a home victory against the inconsistent Pelicans.
While we do expect the Celtics to come out on top here, we still foresee Zion Williamson having his way with the Celtics big’s. The C’s simply don’t have anyone that can offer sufficient rim protection against the best paint scorer in the league, so you can just about chalk up 30+ points for Zion in this one.
Prop: Williamson O28.5 Points ($1.93)
Boston Celtics -3.5

Memphis Grizzlies at Houston Rockets
Toyota Center, 11am AEDT
Memphis Grizzlies have been without one of their best players all season long in Jaren Jackson, but have still remained competitive on a nightly basis. They’re coming off back-to-back losses against the league-leading Jazz, although before that they had won three on the spin, which has kept them right in the mix for a run at the eighth seed in the West.
Houston Rockets clearly went into rebuild mode when they shipped off the disgruntled James Harden, but it certainly hasn’t been a pretty transition. They went on a shambolic 20-game losing streak, which they could only manage to snap when they came up against another struggling team in the Raptors.
The Grizzlies nearly always put up a good fight over 48 minutes and that’s something you can’t say about the Rockets. We’ve been more than happy to oppose the Rockets in recent weeks and this looms as another fantastic opportunity to do just that. Jump on the Grizzlies to cover the small spread here.
Memphis Grizzlies -5.5
