Women’s US Open Betting Tips
Tournament Outright
As always, it’s an open field on the women’s side of the draw. 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams leads the betting market at around $6 to win the title. After Serena you get out to this year’s French Open champion in Ash Barty and the recent Wimbledon champion in Simona Halep, both of whom are around $9 to take out the tournament. Interestingly, all three women have struggled with injury in recent weeks, although they’ve all declared themselves fit to play. We’re actually going to go away from these three and back in American Madison Keys at around $13. She’s fully fit and is in great form, recently taking out the Cincinnati Masters. Keys is currently ranked 10thin the world and has been as high as 7th(2016) and has made deep runs in the US Open in the past. She’s been to the fourth round or better in each of her last four attempts and was the runner-up in 2017. With question marks over a lot of top players fitness, we like the price of Keys.
Winning Nationality
Another market we’re really keen on is the winning nationality, which we’ll obviously be taking USA in. There’s a whole host of great American women’s tennis players that will be right in the mix to win their home Grand Slam. Who do they have? Obviously, 23x Grand Slam champion Serena Williams leads the charge and is the $6 favourite to win the title. Also American is our top pick to win it all in Madison Keys. USA also have the 2017 US Open champion Sloane Stephens and the inform Sofa Kenin. And don’t forget young star Amanda Anisimova who was a French Open semi-finalist earlier this year. All in all, USA have seven of the top 36 players in the world and are well over the odds in this market.
Tournament H2H – Serena Williams vs Simona Halep
Serena Williams and Simona Halep are two of the biggest names in women’s tennis and BetEasy have put them side by side in a head-to-head market. Here, you’re betting on who you think will make it further into the tournament out of the two. We mentioned above that both have struggled with injuries in recent weeks, Serena with her back, and Simona with her Achilles. Both injuries are apparently healed however, so we’ll take them on their word there. So, who makes it further? Serena Williams of course. She’s a 5x US Open champion and has made it to at least the semi-finals in each of her last NINE attempts. On the other hand, Simona Halep has only been to the semi-finals at the US Open once in her career and has been knocked out in the first round in each of her last two attempts.
