NBL Round 17 Betting Tips
Brisbane Bullets vs SE Melbourne Phoenix
Thursday, 7:35pm AEDT
The Bullets made it three on the spin when they obliterated the Hawks last weekend by 29 points. It was truly a huge win that showed their intentions of a playoff berth as they made it three wins on the spin. The Bullets are now in fifth spot on the ladder and are just percentage behind Melbourne United in fourth.
Phoenix were losers in both of their Round 16 fixture and now look like a team destined to miss the playoffs. It’s unfortunate considering how well they started the season; however, they’ve still done extremely well considering it’s their first season in the league. They come into this matchup with a 9-13 record, which is the second worst mark in the league.
This is a pretty straightforward play in our opinion. The Bullets are one of the form teams of the competition and can jump into the top four with a win, while the Phoenix are just about the worst road team in the league and know their season is over. We have the Bullets winning at home by a comfortable margin.

Illawarra Hawks vs Sydney Kings
Friday, 7:35pm AEDT
The Hawks were really poor in their Round 16 game against the Bullets and made it five straight losses in the process. To make matters worse, LaMelo Ball has just announced that he won’t be returning this season, which will inevitably lower ticket sales and morale as a result.
The Kings were huge winners in their Round 16 game against the Phoenix, which was a necessary bounce back win considering their form coming in. They’re now clear at the top of the table once again and will be confident coming into this matchup against the clear worst team in the competition.
Again, this is an absolute no brainer for us. The Kings are on a mission to keep the top spot on the ladder and have a huge motive to play for in this game all guns blazing, while the Hawks will be fielding a bunch of kids that won’t be able to hang around for four quarters. We have the Kings winning this very easily.
Perth Wildcats vs NZ Breakers
Saturday, 8:05pm AEDT
The Wildcats were huge winners in their only game last weekend, dispatching the Phoenix by 26 points while resting their star players down the stretch. That was their second win in a row with Mason Plumlee in the mix and will keep the pressure on the Kings in first spot on the ladder.
The Breakers bounced back from two poor losses in Round 15 to win both of their Round 16 games in emphatic style. They knocked off the Kings in a close one before destroying Melbourne United in the second to really put their playoff push into full tilt. They come into this in sixth spot on the ladder having won seven of their last nine games.
For us, the Breakers are the form team of the competition and will be desperate to claim yet another win in this matchup. The Wildcats are probably going to finish in second spot on the ladder, so we see the Breakers claiming the win here and furthering their playoff credentials.
