We hit on two of our three best bets on Saturday, which is coming quite a common theme for us. Now, we shift our focus to an actioned packed NBA Tuesday with nine big games set to play out. As usual, we’ve previewed some of the best games and provided betting tips for the value plays. Good luck to all following!
NBA Betting Tips Tuesday 20th November
Cleveland Cavaliers at Detroit Pistons (11am AEDT)
We kick off our Tuesday tips with a value play coming from the Cleveland Cavaliers at Detroit Pistons match-up. As many expected, the Cavs have found life after LeBron James extremely difficult. They’re currently in last place in the Eastern Conference standings with just two wins from 14 games. Meanwhile, the Pistons are travelling along nicely in sixth position in the East with a 7-6 record. These are the type of games they must win in order to keep the pace on their pursuit of the playoffs.
Although the Pistons should take care of business at home, their inconsistency means we just can’t take them at such a big handicap. Therefore, we’ve looked elsewhere for value and believe we’ve found a gem with a play on Tristan Thompson to eclipse his Points + Rebounds + Assists (PRA). Thompson has found himself getting a lot more minutes now that Larry Drew is in charge and he’s certainly making the most of it.
In his last five games Thompson has had PRA’s of 39, 25, 35, 37 and most recently 19. However, that 19 was because he only played 19 minutes due to early foul trouble and a blowout, which meant he barely played in both the first and fourth quarter. If he can stay on the court, all signs lead to TT putting up big numbers once again.

Denver Nuggets at Milwaukee Bucks (12pm AEDT)
The Nuggets have had an interesting season so far, winning nine of their first 10, losing four on the spin and then splitting their last two games. They’ve been inconsistent, to say the least, but have still managed to work their way into sixth position in the Western Conference standings with a 10-6 record. The Nuggets will now travel to Milwaukee to take on the Bucks, which will be their second of a three game road trip.
The Bucks have been one of the surprise packets this season and have announced themselves as serious competition to the Raptors and Celtics for the Eastern Conference crown. They’ve put together an impressive 11-4 record, which has them in second place in the East and just two wins behind the Raptors at the top of the Conference. Their home game against the Nuggets on Tuesday will be the third of a huge six-game homestand, where they’re currently 1-1.
It’s hard to see the Nuggets being good enough over four quarters to knock off the Bucks on their home deck. These two teams met just over a week ago in Denver and it was the Bucks who reigned supreme by seven points. Now in front of their home fans, we expect the Bucks to make it 2/2 against the Nuggets with a comfortable win.
Bucks -4.5 Handicap

Dallas Mavericks at Memphis Grizzlies (12pm AEDT)
The Mavericks have strung together an impressive stretch of games to move themselves to 7-8 for the season, but amazingly, that only has them in 13th position in the Western Conference standings. They put together a really strong week, going 4-0 and defeating quality teams in the Thunder, Jazz and Warriors (all at home). However, they now have to hit the road and take on one of the grittiest teams in the league in the Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies have surprised everyone this season as they currently sit in third position in the West with a 10-5 record. They’ve won three on the spin and five of their last six, defeating some quality teams along the way. Their home game against the Mavericks on Tuesday is just a quick visit, as they’ll jump back on the road to face the Spurs on Thursday.
Although both teams are on winning streaks at the moment, we still think the Grizzlies have been far more impressive this season. The Mavericks have been poor on the road and will be facing one of the toughest teams to beat on their home deck. Very happy to take the Grizzlies small line here.
Grizzlies -3.5 Handicap
