We had yet another day where we went 2/3 on our NBA betting tips this past Tuesday. We found winners on both the Pacers and Nuggets respective spreads, but couldn’t quite muster up a perfect day as the Raptors failed to cover at home against the Nets.
We now shift our focus to the huge 11-game slate of NBA action on this Thursday with plenty of juicy match-ups set to play out. As always, we’ve provided previews and betting tips for the value games here. Good luck to everyone following!
NBA Betting Tips Thursday February 14th
Brooklyn Nets @ Cleveland Cavaliers (11am AEDT)
First up for the day we’ve got the Eastern Conference match-up between the Brooklyn Nets and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Interestingly, these teams have met twice this season and the road team has won on both occasions.
The Brooklyn Nets haven’t been winning games like they were earlier in the year, but they’ve had a really tough schedule of late. They’ve faced three of the top five teams in the NBA over the past week and have managed just one win. However, they’re still in sixth place in the East with an even 29-29 record on the season.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers continue to dwell at the bottom of the East, although they were able to win their most recent game against the Knicks. The only thing about that latest win is the fact that the Knicks are winless in their last 17.
Although the Cavaliers won the last meeting between these teams, the Nets are a different beast now. The Nets have plenty to play for and come up against a team that is quite clearly in tank mode. Lock in the Nets to cover the spread on the road here.
Milwaukee Bucks @ Indiana Pacers (11am AEDT)
Second up on the Thursday slate we’re making a play on another Eastern Conference duel between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Indiana Pacers. Either teams can take the lead in the season series between these teams which is currently tied at one win apiece.
The Milwaukee Bucks were able to bounce back from a bizarre loss at home to the Magic with a 13 point win away to the Bulls last time out. They remain the only team in the NBA without consecutive losses this season, and as a result have the best record in the league heading into this match-up.
On the other hand, the Indiana Pacers find themselves in the midst of an unexpected six game winning streak without their star man in Victor Oladipo. Many expected the Pacers to drop off without their leading scorer, but they’ve been able to steady and hold onto third spot in the East.
The Pacers have been able to outlast teams with their depth over the past couple of weeks. However, they come up against a bucks unit that is arguably the deepest in the league. As long as the Bucks play near the standard they’ve shown this season, we expect them to be too strong here.
Milwaukee Bucks -3.5

Miami Heat @ Dallas Mavericks (12:30pm AEDT)
Our third and final play on Thursday comes from the Miami Heat at Dallas Mavericks match-up. This will be the second and final meeting between these teams this season. The first was won by the Heat on their home deck by seven points.
Miami Heat have had an inconsistent season right from the beginning and find themselves precariously placed in the Eastern Conference standings as a result. They’ve now lost six of their last seven games and will continue their current road trip where they’ve lost three on the spin.
The Dallas Mavericks couldn’t quite match it with the Rockets in their most recent outing. Rookie sensation Luka Doncic was again the leading scorer for the Mavs, with no one else really chipping in when it matted. Their playoff hopes are beginning to slip away from them, meaning a win here is almost a non-negotiable.
The Heat have been really poor lately and must be fatigued from such a long road trip. They now travel to face a Mavs unit that has been superb at home all season, and is in desperate need of a win. The small spread looks like great value for us here.
Dallas Mavericks -2.5
