NBA Betting Tips December 13th
Brooklyn Nets at Philadelphia 76ers (11am AEDT)
The Nets backed up their terrific win over the Raptors with an eight point win over the Knicks in their last time out. This little two game streak they find themselves on was desperately needed, as they had lost each of their last eight games prior. They now sit in 11th place in the Eastern Conference standings with a 10-18 record.
After a sluggish start to the season the 76ers seem to have hit their straps and are beginning to live up to all the pre-season hype. They’ve won six of their last seven games, with their lone loss coming against the league’s best Raptors. The Sixers most recent game was against the Pistons, where they controlled the game from start to finish to win by 14 points. They now sit in third place with a record of 19-9.
Although the Nets have been able to win their last two, we feel that this mini streak is about to end. The 76ers are the best home team in the league with a record of 14-1 and usually make light work of teams under .500. We have the Sixers winning comfortably here.
Milwaukee Bucks at Indiana Pacers (11am AEDT)
The Bucks have continued to produce solid results and come into this one against the Pacers with the second best record in the entire NBA at 18-8. Their most recent outing was a win against the lowly Cavaliers, but perhaps their most impressive win of the season was the game before that when they defeated the Raptors on their own floor by five points.
The Pacers have also enjoyed another successful season in the Eastern Conference and come into this game just one place behind the Bucks in the standings with a 17-10 record. The Pacers depth seems to be a genuine strength of theirs, as they’ve been able to continue to improve on their .500 record without their key star in Victor Oladipo.
The Pacers may be on a four game winning streak without Oladipo, but they quality of opposition they’ve faced during that stretch is greatly inferior to what they’ll face on Thursday. The Bucks are genuine contenders in the East and should be too strong here.
Boston Celtics at Washington Wizards (11am AEDT)
The Celtics have finally got it together and look like the team we thought would dominate the Eastern Conference this season. After starting at 10-10, they’ve managed to win each of their last six games to jump up to fifth in the standings. More impressively however, is the fashion in which they’ve been downing their opponents. They’ve won every game by nine plus points and have even beaten a Bulls team by 56.
The Wizards continue to disappoint and are coming off consecutive road losses against the Cavaliers and the Pacers. Their season record now stands at 11-16, placing them in 10th position in the Eastern Conference standings and two games outside of the playoff picture. They’ll need to string together a decent winning streak sooner rather than later if they’re to make any sort of noise this season.
The Celtics are the far better team here with their talent and depth both sure to prove too much for the Wizards. We’re surprised to see such a small line here, so we’ll be taking full advantage.
