After a day off for Thanksgiving the NBA returns with a monster 14-game slate on Saturday for us to indulge in! There’s plenty of exciting games to look forward to, with a few presenting more value than others. Here, we’ve provided previews and betting tips for the three best value plays of the day. Good luck to all following!
NBA Betting Tips Saturday 24th November
Houston Rockets @ Detroit Pistons (11am AEDT)
The Rockets and Pistons will face off for the second time in just a couple of days, but this time it will be on Pistons home turf in Detroit. Their clash on went the way of the Rockets, but it certainly wasn’t a comfortably victory. Drummond (20 points, 11 rebounds) and Griffin (37 points, 11 rebounds) were a dominant one-two punch and pushed James Harden (43 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists), Clint Capela (27 points, 15 rebounds) and the Rockets right to the limits.
Although the Rockets have been able to find a bit of last season’s form and string together a couple of wins, they’re still only 9-7 on the season and are seemingly one key injury away from their season completely derailing. Meanwhile, the Pistons have been solid so far and proven hard to beat on their home deck. They’ve also put up a number of good performances against the Rockets in recent year. In the last five meetings between these two teams the biggest winning margin by either team is seven points. From those five games, Houston have won three and Detroit 2.
We envision another tight tussle between these teams on Saturday, but with a different outcome compared to their recent meeting. At home, we expect the twin towers to cause havoc and prove too much for the Rockets weak interior defence.
Cleveland Cavaliers @ Philadelphia 76ers (11:30am AEDT)
The Cavaliers were unable to hold off the Lakers in their most recent outing, which was labelled as the return of the king, due to the fact it was LeBron James first visit to Cleveland since leaving to join the Lakers in free agency earlier this year. It was a better showing than most of their games this year however, and they’ll be looking to build on that to try and get their third win of the season in Philadelphia on Saturday.
The 76ers survived a late scare against the Pelicans in their most recent outing. They led by almost 20 points at multiple stages in the game, before collapsing in the fourth and relying on Davis missing one of his three free throws at the end of the game… which he did. That win took the Sixers home record to 10-0 this season, which is the best mark in the league.
There isn’t any real value in the head-to-head markets here, but we’ve found some great value in a play on Cedi Osman’s overs. The Turk started the season really strongly but was disrupted with injuries after 10 games. He’s now returned to the line-up and returned to form, highlighted by his 21 point effort in 42 minutes against the Lakers on Thursday. He may not reach those heights, but we think he’s a great chance at 11+ here.

Portland Trail Blazers @ Golden State Warriors (2:30pm AEDT)
The Trail Blazers are coming off an embarrassing 43-point loss to the Bucks on Thursday in a game where they never looked like getting going. Despite the loss, the Blazers are still in an excellent position in the Western Conference standings, sitting in second with a 12-6 record. Their opponents, the Warriors, have been really out of sorts over the past couple of weeks. In fact, their loss to the Thunder on Thursday was the first time in six years that they’ve lost four consecutive games. They’re now placed precariously in fifth position in the West, but will be confident they can turn their form around when they get all their troops back.
On the back of their recent play, we just can’t see why the Warriors continue to go into games against quality opposition as favourites. They’ve done nothing to show that they’re ready to get going again, so until then we’re very happy to oppose them at generous odds.
