One of the most historic and prestigious events on the Moto GP calendar, the Motul TT Assen aka the Dutch TT will run over the weekend with the main race this Sunday night at 10.30pm.
Italian Andrea Dovizioso has breathed life into the Championship race after winning both of the last two races in Italy and Spain and is looking unstoppable on his Ducati at the moment. After the first few races of the season Ducati looked, once again, to be a few steps behind the No.1 Honda and Yamaha teams, however, both Dovizioso and teammate Jorge Lorenzo have looked great in the last few races, which is not only good for Ducati but good for the competiveness of the championship.
Spaniard Maverick Vinales still holds a diminishing lead on the 2017 Champions Standings. His lead was reduced to just 7 points over the Italian after a disappointing 10th place finish in his home race.
The track for the upcoming Dutch TT, known as the ‘Cathedral of Speed’ is a tight and technical track with lots of slow turns and extremely high speed bends. There are no real hard breaking points on the circuit, so importance on front tyre grip won’t be at a premium. This will probably suit the likes of the Ducati’s who have more power down the long straights and fast bends than the likes of Yamaha and Honda.
Marc Marquez has opened as favourite for the race after an impressive 2nd place finish in Spain but we think the value is once again with the in form Italian, Dovizioso. As mentioned, the power of the Ducati should have the slight advantage here making it hard to look past Dovizioso.

Dani Pedrosa holds the current course record, set at 1’34.548 when he was riding for Honda back in 2012. Still on the Honda Repsol team, Perdrosa could be another smokey chance to pinch a podium after an impressive 3rd in Catalunya.
TIP: Dani Pedrosa podium finish - Prices to come
Another chance could be Aussie Jack Miller, who picked up his maiden Moto GP race win in the Dutch TT last year, beating out Marc Marquez and Scott Redding. However, a host of riders retired that day so a bet on Miller to pinch a podium or top five finish might be a better pick.
TIP: Jack Miller top five - Prices to come
