Another fun day of NHL betting tips coming up as we have a preview for the Wednesday, December 7th games including the Australian televised Canadiens at Blues game.
Montreal Canadiens at St. Louis Blues (12:05 PM AEST - Live on FoxSports 1)
The Canadiens have been flying during the 2016-17 season. They are 17-6-2, which puts them on top, one-point ahead of the Rangers and Blackhawks. Their speed and pressure on the ice has been relentless and often forces opponents to make mistakes. They are a team to fear - but arguably only when playing at home. Their record at home is 12-1-1, while on the road they are just 5-5-1. They also come into this game on the back of a tough 12-day road trip accross five cities.
The Blues, meanwhile, also love home-ice just as much as the Canadiens, going 9-0-3 over the last 12. They will miss Robert Bortuzzo in this game, but with the home advantage, they are a strong chance to win here. Should be a great game, but a slight edge goes to the Blues.

New York Rangers at New York Islanders (11:00 AM AEST)
The Rangers visit their rivals the Islanders on Wednesday morning. The Rangers are still number one in the metropolitan division ahead of Pittsburgh. Henrik Lundqvist is expected to start on a 12-7-1 record. The Rangers are still rated highly in the offense category, averaging 3.65 goals per game which sets the bar at the top of the league. They don't seem to produce a lot of shots on goal, but are super effective, ranked 1st for shooting percentage.
The Islanders, meanwhile enter this home game at Barclay Centre at the bottom of their division and are still trying to piece together the puzzle to get some consistency to push up the standings. They are 7-4-4 at home and are coming off a loss to Detroit on home ice in overtime. John Tavares is holding the fort for the Islanders, leading the way for goals and assists. The quicker they can get back Grabovski the better. They certainly need him to push the puck and provide scoring opportunities in offense. They should find this far too tough.
Tip: New York Islanders at the line (-1.5) $4.50 at CrownBet
Colorado Avalanches vs Nashville Predators (12pm AEST)
The Avalanches are sitting last overall in the league, and have lost the last five straight. Just when things couldn't get worse, Erik Johnston sustained a broken leg in their loss to Dallas. Johnston leads the team in assists and has 11 points to his name this season. The Avalanches come up against a Nashville team who are 8-2-2 at home, which is one of the better records in the league. Nashville are also coming off a couple of straight losses, their latest to a hot Philadelphia team. The Predators are offensively solid, but defensively they need some work. They allowed 2.67 goals per game and are 19th in the league in penalty minutes. PK Sobben leads the point category, and ex penguin James Neal has 10 goals for the season. Like the Preds here.
Tip: Nashville Predators Double Result - $2.96 at Sportsbet
Arizona Coyotes at Chicago Blackhawks (12:30pm AEST)
The Arizona Coyotes head into the Windy City to take on the Blackhawks who are having a great season. It doesn't get easier for the Coyotes who have lost the last four straight. After consecutive losses to Columbus, Arizona sit last place in the Pacific division and are second last overall. Arizona also have a dismal away record this season, going 3-7-3. They are ranked 30th in the league with shots on goal allowed and also are averaging only 2.29 goals per game.
The Blackhawks have also lost two straight and are expected to start goalie Scott Darling who has pieced together a 4-2-1 record. Offense hasn't been the strongest for the Blachawks this season. Now they are without captain Jonathan Toews who finds himself with an upper body injury. Chicago is averaging 2.67 goals per game and are ranked 25th for shoots on goal. Chicago are 10-2-2 at home this year and will try to avoid their first three game losing streak of the year. I expect Arizona to try to make a statement in the first period, but then should be overpowered by the class and quickness of Chicago.
