2015 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am – Preview and Betting Tips
Where: Pebble Beach, California, USA
When: Friday 13th February 2015 (first tee off at 3:00am AEDT)
Purse: $6,800,000
Spyglass Hill golf course will play host to the 2015 Pebble Beach Pro-Am and is on most golfers bucket list. Spyglass consistently plays as one of the toughest courses on the PGA Tour (off the championship tees). For all of you golf nerds it has a slope rating of 144 and plays approximately 4 shots harder (75.5)
Jimmy Walker is returns as the defending champion and he is playing some fantastic golf. He still leads the Fed Ex cup standings and is showing no signs of slowing down. However the sportsbooks are making you pay a premium price if you like Walker this week and in my opinion he is not value in either outright betting or top 10 markets.
Australia’s new favourite. Jason Day is fresh off a playoff victory at the Farmers Insurance Open and in doing so leapfrogged Adam Scott in the world rankings. Day is equal favourite with Walker at 9-1. It’s great to see an Aussie playing this well but it’s very improbable to win back-to-back tournaments on the PGA Tour. He will be in our cross hairs at Augusta and in all Major’s in 2015 for that matter.
This week there are three guys I believe can play well and put themselves in a position to win.
We are recommending (0.5 unit) plays on each of these golfers.
We also like the look of the following Head to Head (Tournament Match Betting):
Brandt Snedeker to beat Hunter Mahan (2 units) - $1.85 at Sportsbet
Snedeker is a previous winner of the Pebble Beach Pro-Am and he’s also a clutch putter which is a key ingredient for success at Pebble Beach. Hunter Mahan is also in a letdown position with the birth of his second child a week ago. I can’t imagine him being rested or staying focused for four rounds under those circumstances.
Also looking at the following markets:
+ Ryan Palmer to beat Jim Furyk (2units) - $1.90 at Sportsbet
+ Aaron Baddeley ( Top 20 finish ) (2units) - $4.33 at Sportsbet
