2014 PGA – Memorial Tournament
Where: Muirfield Village Golf Club, Ohio
When: First tee off - Thursday, May 29th at 9:20 p.m. AEST
The Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village in Ohio is the next stop on the PGA Tour. Two of the hottest players in the world will be competing - Rory Mcilroy and recently crowned world number one Adam Scott. Both coming off big victories, but it is world number six Mcilroy that will start tournament favourite.
The Memorial is famously hosted by living legend Jack Nicklaus. Ohio has experienced one of its coldest winters ever, which has kept the ground staff at Muirfield Village on their toes. There has been new rough laid, although being inaccurate off the tee didn’t seem to bother 2013 champion Matt Kuchar, who ranked T37 in fairways hit.
Last year’s runner up Kevin Chappell will be looking to go one better and has the recent form to suggest he will do very well this week. Dustin Johnson has also had good results at Muirfield with three top 20’s in six starts. He had great first and fourth rounds last week and looks like he’s ready to improve. Will be taking a look at both of these players this weekend. Watch the markets!
