Wyong Racing Tips: Wednesday, December 11th 2024
Race 4: Magic Millions Wyong 3YO & 4YO Stakes – 1200m - 3:30pm (AEDT)
(1) The Novelist $3.70: 4YO gelding who we backed last start in BM78 grade and he was super gritty where he lead the entirety and looked gone at the 150m with BUNKER HUT leveling with him, but he showed grit to find again and get up on the line. (Gaps to third). Remains at 1200m which is his ideal distance and will be rock hard fit fourth up. This appears easier on paper than last start and he gets half a kilo of his back. Well supported in the early market and looks the one to beat.
(7) Zealousy $3.10: 3YO gelding who has been terrific in his last two starts. Won his maiden by 4L and then 2L last start in 64 grade. Third up now and must be considered with the way he is racing this prep. Tougher here.
(9) Bauhinia $4.60: Resuming 3YO Filly who has form being AMEENA and SILMARILLION last prep only finishing 1.4L behind them in Open grade. Has trialled leading into this and is worth a watch.

Race 5: Vanderpoel Smash Repais Midway BM64– 1100m - 4:05pm (AEDT)
(1) Incarcerated $1.80: Handy 4YO gelding who stacked up two wins in his first preparation with them both being demolition jobs. Ticked out for a spell after a disappointing 6th in BM64 grade. Expect him to be back to his best now fresh and has trialled nicely leading in. Goes well on the soft and loves this track. Touch short in the market, but hard to beat.
(3) Zoukerino $8.50/$3.20: 5YO gelding who also resumes and has trialled twice leading in, so should be fit for this. Both career wins come from this distance and with one being first up and on the soft track. Gets in well at the weights and looks a blow out hope. Prefer him at an each way price, but with only 7 runners now we have NTD. Small play.
(6) Welcome Gypsy $2.80: 6YO Mare who has been well supported here. Never placed over the journey from 5 attempts is the concern. Second up though, so expect improvement.

Race 7: Sky Racing BM68 – 1300m - 5:15pm (AEDT)
(1) Angara $4.20: 5YO gelding who wasn’t all that bad when resuming in 78 grade. Finished less than 4L behind the winner PISANELLO there. Gets back in grade now and goes well second up. Loves it soft and has a nice record over 1300m. Looks a nice chance.
(3) Miss Checkoni $7.00/$2.30: 7YO Mare who looks suited in this company today and gets in light with a 2kg claim on top. Needs to improve sharply though as recent form has been poor. Value pick.
(5) Monty Be Quick $3.70: 5YO who broke his maiden in style at the end of last prep winning by almost 6L. Returns today with two nice trials and looks ready to go on with it. Main danger.
