Warwick Farm hosts midweek racing in New South Wales this week with a seven-race program on offer. The track is currently rated a Soft6 and the maidens get us underway in Race 1 which starts at 2:20pm (AEDT). With mostly first starters in that race, I’ll let that one go through to the keeper, but have three other bets to consider during the afternoon. Check them out below and good luck to everyone following!

Warwick Farm Racing Tips: Wednesday, February 19th 2025
Race 2: Hyland Race Colours Handicap - 2:55pm (AEDT)
*SCRATCHED* (7) Sting In The Tail has drawn the widest here in a field of 8 but the Waller-trained mare usually gets back in her races anyway so it might actually suit her racing pattern. She just missed out (2nd) after running on at Canterbury last time with JMac on and the extra 200m looks like it should suit. Before that she was near last on the turn at the same track but stormed home to win by a neck. If the pace is fast early, she wins.
(4) Seven’s is 2 from 2 on Soft tracks and he ran on pretty well over the mile last stat for 3rd. Does rise sharply in distance though.
(3) Smart Legend has been racing well on Dry tracks. He won well at Canterbury last start but races at Warwick Farm for the first time.
(7) Sting In The Tail
SCR
Race 4: Proven Thoroughbreds Handicap - 4:05pm (AEDT)
(3) Silencio Porfavor is first up here for the Matthew Smith yard but he has won when first up previously. He has had 3 trials in the lead up to this where he just fogged around for fitness so he does have miles in the legs. He does race well on Dirt tracks and sees a Sift track for the first time which is the only concern. His win at Scone before his break was an easy one (3L) and I think class prevails here.
(8) Ride The River got tired when first up at Wyong (9th) over 1100m and dropping back to 1000m here looks the go. Bjorn Baker’s stable is in fine form at present.
(6) Abuse Of Power smashed them at Nowra on a Dry track and a softer track here is a query. Freshened up for this though.
(3) SIlencio Porfavor WIN
$1.90 (3 Units)
Race 6: Asahi Super Dry Handicap - 5:15pm (AEDT)
(4) Good Sort usually runs well fresh and is first up here for Waller. She was very consistent before her break despite her last run (9th) hence the decision to spell and I can’t see why she won’t run top 3 again like she was doing frequently earlier in her career. If you go back to October 19, she ran a very good 3rd (beaten half a length) in the Group 3 Reg Allen at Randwick and that race was a lot harder than this.
(5) Scintilla may start fav here because she is 2 from 2 on Soft ground. Both of those wins were easy ones at Canterbury but she sees this track runs over the 1400m for the first time here. In saying that is eyeing off 3 on the bounce and gets the jockey claim.
(1) Pioneer Lass seems overs to me and can sneak a placing at big odds. She was 12th in a Listed mares race last time but only beaten 3L and this is easier.
(4) Good Sort Each-Way
$4.20/$1.60 (1U/3U)
