Warwick Farm Racing Tips – Wednesday, April 19th 2023
Race 2: Home Affairs @ Coolmore Handicap (1200m)
(1)SNAPBACK: First up today since running a very nice race in the $150k 2YO handicap back in December 2022 where he came second. He has had a trial three weeks ago and should be ready to race, especially out of this stable. Draws a wide gate which will be the only thing he needs to overcome. Hard to match these lot up, but after his maiden start he showed quite a bit of upside and the stable have taken their time to get him ready to go.
Race 5: Schweppes Handicap (1300m)
(5) ESSONN: She has built a handy resume with a 50% strike rate from 10 starts. Come off a nice win over 1400m and then trialled well before taking on some serious horses in a $500k race. Drops 100m and gets back in easier class here. Nice each way price is worth a bet.
(7) HUESCA: This fella looks suited here as he is proven over the track/distance and loves the soft track with all career wins being on it. Will watch the market and will be worth some thought.
(5) ESSONE - Each Way
$5.50/$2.20
Race 6: Vinery yearlings Handicap (1100m)
(13) EAGLE NEST: Very impressive maiden win LS where she won by almost 5L. Same distance and conditions again here and doesn’t look to be too difficult on paper here. Happy to have after LS win.
(3) MR BINGO: All career wins have been at this distance and had filled the minors another 3 times. Finished second last 2 starts and looks over the odds. One for the exotics.
(13) EAGLE NEST - WIN
$2.40
Race 7: Precise Air handicap (1200m)
(9) BOWERY BREEZE: She ran a huge race LS and only just missed out on the prize. Gets the exact same race again here and will be fitter this time out. Loves the wet conditions, so any further downgrade would be ideal and worth more thought. She has had Three starts here over the Trk/Dst and has a record of 3: 1-1-0.
(3) DEMIANA: Waller and J-Mac is always a dangerous combo, but the market has already drifted from $3.20 - $4.20. She has been freshened and may be ready to fire, but I think the wet track could be a slight downfall. Drops back to 1200m which is also a plus. 1400m maybe too far LS?
(9) BOWERY BREEZE - EACH WAY
$8/$2.70
