Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday September 4th 2024
Race 4: Senet Gambling Law Experts Handicap 1300m - 2.10pm AEST
I think the market is going to tighten right up come jump time and I suspect that (6) Amoursirra will start close to favourite. She has been stiff in both runs back from a spell, and suffice to say she has been slaughtered each time, firstly by McNeil at Caulfield and then Lane here last time. She's flying, she gets B Shinn and I suspect she'll settle handy, ready to pounce.
(10) Zloties is the hype horse and has been well backed early, as was the case last week when the meeting was called off. Her first up maiden win at Geelong was impressive, giving them a start and a beating, them including Happy Link, who came out and bolted up at Geelong on Sunday, so the form does read well. $2.80 though for a mare second up since Feb 2022...that's too short for me hence why I want to be with the Price/Kent mare.
(9) Lowlands has done little wrong in her short career to date for Ciaron Maher and is racing as if she'll appreciate the rise to 1300m. Ran over 1200m here last time and was a real eye catcher I thought, closing off with purpose late when second to Sparkling. Tricky gate, but commands respect.
(6) Amoursirra
$4.10 (3 units)
Race 8: Thoroughbred Club Of Australia Handicap 1300m - 4.30pm AEST
I think (18) Prevailed is worth an each way ticket in a very open race. Team Kavanagh trained gelding that attempted to lead throughout at this trip on the Lakeside track last time and gave a very strong kick from the front but had no answers late for Riproar. Maps perfect and I think double figures for a horse to be ridden by B Shinn looks great value.
(12) Sunset Dreaming brings Saturday metro form, which clearly reads well for a Sandown midweek event. That run was at Caulfield and she closed off strongly late in the piece but had no answers late for A Little Deep. Bursting to win and she gets her chance here.
(17) Gangitano is one of the more fascinating runners on the card. Once touted as a Blue Diamond horse, he is having his first run for Gavin Bedggood, a trainer that is excellent when it comes to improving a tried horse. Better suited over slightly further I feel, and has drawn poorly, but his jumpout work has been more than encouraging.
(18) Prevailed E/W
$10/$3.65 (1u/2u)
Race 9: Sportsbet Same Race Multi Handicap 1000m - 5.05pm AEST
(14) Big Me is short enough in what looks a competitive race but he is above average and is bursting to win. Nick Ryan trained gelding that looked all but home at The Valley last time out but just got nabbed on the peg by the in form Cavallo Rampante. He gets B Shinn and maps to stalk the speed. I think he gets his chance to win.
The market will be fascinating with (11) Lazy Susan, who resumes. This girl has done little wrong in her eleven start career and although she has only had quiet jumpouts in readiness for her return, the stable does find J Kah fresh and the stable is flying at present. Watch the market.
(6) Whistlefield will put herself on speed and give cheek, which is what she did when winning at Caulfield two back before going to the Lightning at Morphettville when leading and giving a bold sight but couldn't quite see it through behind Lingani, who has won again since. Linda back on, she'll look the winner at some stage.
