Victorian racing on Wednesday heads to Sandown Lakeside, where eight races have been set down. The track as of Monday evening is a Soft 6 and despite fine weather forecast, I think won't improve too much.

Sandown Racing Tips: Wednesday August 7th 2024
Race 4th: Senet Gambling Law Experts Handicap 1400m - 2.10pm AEST
(9) Royal Invader is the best each way bet on the program for mine. She ran last Wednesday on the Hillside track where she actually jumped pretty good and Dee did press forward but once he realised he couldn't get in, he dragged her back to last and just forget she went around. Maps to settle much closer and on a firmer deck, she only runs well.
(8) Sweet Jasmine is a key chance for the Price/Kent camp. She ran over 1400m two weeks ago where she got into a decent spot off the speed and tried hard but just found one better when second to La Casona. She was a few weeks between runs there so with room for improvement, rates highly.
(2) Greta Moon is a talented mare for Patrick Payne that resumes. She is first up, having not raced since Jan 20 at Flemington when producing an end of prep run behind Aramco, who I think is Stakes class. That form reads well for a moderate Wednesday race and her trial work has been more than encouraging.
(9) Royal Invader E/W
$7.30/$2.20 (1U/4U)
Race 6: LocketLED.au Handicap 1600m - 3.20pm AEST
(3) Fretta is short enough but she clearly looks the one to beat for the Price/Kent camp. Resumed over 1500m two weeks ago where she chased strongly from off the speed but first up, condition just gave way late in the piece behind Zoltan, a narrow second. Fitter, up in trip, 3kg claim, she's clearly the one to beat.
(4) Morryl Moral is racing well for Ciaron Maher but is just struggling to put a race away. Looked to get every chance at Ballarat Synthetic last time but just found one better in Roadie. Hard fit now and up to the mile, he gets every chance, but is priced on the stable I feel. Expecting him to get out.
(10) Alcabeel hasn't been too bad in two career outings and looks the leader. He did a good job on speed to win on debut at Newcastle before going to the Kenso when leading and giving a decent sight but just felt the pinch late behind West Of Africa. Looks the leader and with some control on speed, he takes running down.
(3) Fretta
$2.50 (3 Units)
Race 7: Evergreen Turf Handicap 1200m - 3.55pm AEST
Last time (7) William Thomas won, Moses was parting the sea, but I think he's a big enough price to speck each way. He ran over 1300m two weeks ago on the Hillside track and in a race dominated on speed, he was quite good late in the piece behind Ithadtobezou. Back to 1200m I like, he gets a hungry Vlad Duric to steer and if they go silly in front, look for him to launch.
(11) Cheval Chic should prove hard to beat. Was with Danny O'Brien but is now with Phillip Stokes and first run for the stable was three weeks ago at this track/distance when game in defeat behind Dollar Chaser. Firmer footing looks a big tick, she gets J Kah and maps perfect.
(10) Holly Lolly ran second in the Dollar Chaser race mentioned above. She got into a decent spot off the speed but I really liked the way she found the line late when a narrow second. If she can settle closer, she takes holding out and is a definite winning threat.
(7) William Thomas E/W
$14/$3.50 (1U/2U)
