NRL Round 4 Sunday Betting Tips
Raiders vs Knights (Sunday, June 7th 4:05pm)
The undefeated Canberra Raiders will aim for their first 4-0 start to a season since 2005 when they meet the Knights at Campbelltown Stadium this Sunday. Canberra headed south to Melbourne in Round 3 for another expected tough clash against the Storm but the Raiders simply outclassed them, highlighted by their defence. The Raiders turnaround in 2019 and early 2020 has been built on their defence and they've now just conceded 18 points in their 3 games this season. English halfback George Williams also showed why the Raiders picked him up in the offseason as he showcased his skills to the NRL last week. In team news, they've made just the one change as Bailey Simonsson comes into the side on the wing for Jordan Rapana.
Meanwhile, the Knights produced a massive effort in their draw against the Panthers in Round 3 considering their injury woes. Mitchell Pearce and Connor Watson were ruled out early in the game but Newcastle still managed to push the Panthers in the second half. David Klemmer was excellent with 252 run metres and Chris Randall was impressive off the bench with 71 tackles. So their second-half comeback should give them confidence this Sunday in an attempted upset over Canberra. There's plenty of team changes for the Knights, highlighted by the return of Kalyn Ponga. With the faster pace of the NRL at the moment, Ponga will be extra dangerous with ball in hand. New addition Andrew McCullough will also enter the starting lineup for the injured Watson.
At the moment, scoring points against the Raiders isn't an easy feat so we like the chances of the Under in this affair. They've conceded just 6 points per game and the Under has also saluted in all of their last 10 games. The last meeting between the two sides also saw just 27 total points.
Titans vs Wests Tigers (Sunday, June 7 6:30pm)
The Titans head up the M1 this Sunday and they'll need to show some heart or this could be another blowout. They sit dead last on the ladder with just 18 points scored in 3 games. Meanwhile, their defence has been just as awful with 35.3 points conceded per game. So they'll look to turnaround their fortunes with a reshuffled lineup. Nathan Peats has been dropped at hooker for Erin Clark. Jarrod Wallace and Jai Whitbread have also been dropped to the reserves. Tyrone Roberts will start at fullback as well.
The Tigers are coming to Brisbane with confidence after holding off a comeback against the Sharks last week in their 28-16 victory. After leading 10-0 after 6 minutes, the Sharks hit the lead before half-time. But the Tigers kept them scoreless in the second half while scoring 3 converted tries. The other good news saw regular halfback Luke Brooks make a successful return from injury as he was missed in the first 2 rounds. Harry Grant also made a good impression in his first game for the club after the trade with the Storm. There are no changes for the Tigers in team news.
This clash could get ugly considering the Titans defence at the moment so we'll be backing the Tigers to score plenty of points. Wests beat the 24.5 point line last week and as mentioned, the Titans are easily conceding 30+ points per game. Also, look for David Nofoaluma in the anytime try scorer markets as he's scored a try in the Tigers last 4 night games.
