Best bets this Tuesday, the 7th of January come via a couple of interesting country meets in both Kembla Grange and Mudgee. We highlight a few of our favourite chances of the day and provide our tips below.
Horse Racing Tips: Tuesday, January 7th
Kembla Grange Race 3 (Market)
(1) Come Along doesn’t win out of turn as is shown in his overall record of 2 wins from 18 career starts, but he has found an easier assignment than the first two runs this campaign. He resumed at Newcastle in a hot BM72 that has been a good form reference since and was beaten a long way after not running on. He had a 5-week break and went to Newcastle again, but on the smaller inner track. He was near last through the early and mid-stages before running on hard from the back and narrowly missing, reeling off some good sectionals in the process. He looks suited getting out to the 1400m on the bigger track here, he will be giving them a start but the speed looks good enough on paper that he can run over the top.
Kembla Grange Race 7 (Market)
(7) Luvoir is a 5-start maiden that has placed three times, two of them this campaign. Two starts back here at Kembla he was slowly away, got a mile back in the run and after angling clear in the straight, made some ground late into third without looking the winner. He then travelled north to the Beaumont track at Newcastle, settled a lot closer and was about 3-4 lengths back into the straight. He ran on well but was no match for the dominant winner, but there was a huge gap back to third, almost 4 lengths. Fully fit now fourth-up at his second prep, out in trip to the 1500m and with the blinkers on for the first time, there look to be a lot of positives.
(2) Tourmaster is from the Bjorn Baker yard, all his horses must be respected when he sends a team west. He made his debut at Bathurst a couple of weeks ago just before Christmas, he was easy in the market SP’ing around the $5 mark. He began well and got across to the rails first to lead, he was attacked by the winner early in the straight and stuck on well for second. He was beaten on his merits but there was a huge gap back to third, almost 5 lengths! This looks easier, should be fitter for the run and off the inside gate, the jockey will have all the options. I sincerely hope though that if he begins well, he goes forward and runs them off their feet.
