The new week of racing commences with meetings at Grafton and Mornington and Luke Krahe has provided his best bets of the day below.
Horse Racing Tips: Monday, October 21st
Grafton Race 3 (Market)
(3) Without Revenge is the first of two Matty Dunn runners we will target today, he has been to the races four times and never missed a place winning two of them. Both of his wins came at Ipswich when getting back and running on hard. His maiden win was dominant and was then sent to the paddock. He resumed after 5 months and flew home to narrowly get up. He obviously had some issues as he was sent straight to the paddock again, since then it has been 45 weeks since we have seen him at the races. He has trialed twice on the Gold Coast fairly, interesting to note that he saddles the 2kg claiming girl up for the geldings return. Drawn well, he is likely to be giving them a start but if the track is playing fairly and he has come back anywhere near his best, he should be too good for this lot. I would love to see some money for him also, always a good sign with this stable.

Grafton Race 4 (Market)
(9) Dreamtime Magic is a three-start maiden that has run third at all three. She has had one run back this prep in a harder maiden at Ipswich earlier this month, she was solid enough in the betting without being well backed and ran a nice race. She was well back in the run and got shunted very wide before attacking the line, the winner of that race has since placed in a Class 1 on the Sunny Coast, the second horse across the line has since gone on to brain them at Ippy last time in red figures and the fourth horse was beaten a lip as favourite at Doomben on Wednesday last week. The form-lines look strong through that maiden, Ronnie Stewart gets the ride and hopefully should be more positive out of the gate.

Mornington Race 2 (Market)
Damian Oliver going to Mornington on a Monday for one ride, a Greg Eurell first starter named (2) Helavabel. That’s all that’s needed right? Well probably but let’s dig a little deeper. The Bel Esprit gelding had a couple of jump-outs, the latest was at his home track of Cranbourne which he won impressively. He then had an official trial at Cranbourne again, was close up on the speed before being asked the question for a dominant win. Interestingly, Oliver rode the second horse in that trial. The danger could come from the Exceed And Excel gelding for the Price/Kent yard (12) Exceed Rock if he gets a start. He didn’t show a lot at his first prep, got the ultimate gear change and was gelded and has won a trial since coming back into work.
Mornington Race 5 (Market)
(2) Thunderbolt Two has been consistent through his 9-start career, he was a Bendigo maiden winner three back in what has proven a good form reference. He has had the one run back at Donald in a similar grade to this, sat up on the speed and joined in inside the furlong, stuck on well but just found one better in a bunched finish. He is beautifully drawn in one, love the jockey change with Mick Walker going on. His confidence should see him kicking through to lead, if there is any advantage early on being on the rails and on speed, have a another go in the run, if he lands on the bunny. His maiden win did come second-up as he is today and showed enough fresh to suggest he has come back well enough.
