It was a great weekend of golf action as Dustin Johnson took out the WGC-Mexico in a dominant display. The PGA season continues this weekend as the tour heads to Palm Beach Gardens in sunny Florida for the annual Honda Classic.

2019 Honda Classic Betting Tips
The Course
The PGA National Resort & Spa Champion Course will host the Honda Classic for the 13th consecutive year since taking over from the Country Club at Mirasol back in 2007. The course plays as a 7,125 yard, par 70 and was redisigned with the help of JAck Nicklaus in 1990. After the redesign, holes 15, 16 and 17 became famously known as the 'Bear Trap' and might be the most challenging stretch of holes on any golf course on the PGA Tour.
Not only is the Bear Trap challenging, but the course on the whole offers a tough test for even the best golfers in the world. There are over 100 bunkers lining the fairways and greends and the course regularly ranks near the bottom of average greens in regulations. While it's not incredibly long, the wind plays a massive factor and strong iron play is an absolute must for anyone trying to tame the Champion Course.
The Field
While the field for this weekend's event wont be as stacked as the WGC-Mexico held on the weekend, there will still be plenty of stars making a start, headlined by World No.2 Brooks Koepka, who will make his third start of 2019 after finishing T27 in the WGC-Mexico on the weekend.
Justin Thomas will be back to defend his Honda Classic title after winning the 2018 edition in a playoff over Luke List while the rest of the field will be headlined by the likes of Sergio Garcia, Webb Simpson, Martin Kaymer, Jimmy Walker, Zach Johnson and winners of the Honda Classic in 2016 and 2017 respectively, Adam Scott and Rickie Fowler.
Tips
One player who is red hot form at the moment and who should go close this weekend is Justin Thomas. While Thomas is the favourite to win the tournament, it's hard to argue with his form. After looking shaky in rounds two and three of the WGC-Mexico on the weekend, Thomas came out all guns blazing on Sunday, shooting a nine under par 62 to finish 9th overall. It marks the third PGA Tour event in a row that he has finished inside the top ten and his fifth top ten of seven PGA Tour events this season.
Thomas ranks first overall on tour in shots gained on approach this season and sixthg overall in greens in regulation percentage. Probably the most complete player in the world at the moment and almost a lock for top 10 at any tournament. Matter of time before this star lifts a trophy again.

As we mentioned above, strong iron play and particularly with long irons will be key for us this weekend as many of the Par 3's and 4's require tricky, long approches. It's been harfd to find a better long iron player so far this season and over the past decade than Adam Scott. Scott ranks 28th overall in shots gained on approach to the green and in the top 10 in approaches from nearly every distance.
Scott's work with the short stick has been the thing that has held him down since the PGA Tour outlawed the broomstick putter after his Masters victory, however, the Aussie seems to have finally found form once again with the putter. He ranks 18th overall on tour this year in shots gained in putting and has had a fantastic season so far with four top 20 finishes from six official PGA Tour events including a 2nd at the Farmers Insurance Open and a T7 at the Genesis Open a few weeks ago. We think he is great value this weekend.
