Big ten game slate in the NHL this Wednesday, the 6th of December. We take a look at some of the key games of the day including the Fox Sports televised Rangers at Penguins and give our betting tips below.
New York Rangers at Pittsburgh Penguins (11.30am AEDT)
The Rangers head to Pittsburgh for the start of their two game road trip. The Rangers won their previous game over the Hurricanes in a come from behind victory. Michael Grabner came to play, scoring a hat trick which helped give the Rangers a 5-1 on 26 shots. The Rangers are 3-5-0 on the road and come to PPG Paints arena trying to beat a team who have won the last four straight. The Rangers bring in Henrik Lundqvist who has been solid as per usual and is now 13-6-2 for the year. New York are ranked sixth for goals and eighth for power play percentage which shows the offensive lines have been getting it done.
The Penguins are looking for their fifth straight win and come into Wednesday’s game looking evenly matched with their rivals in the Rangers. Captain Crosby has four points in the last two games and is heating up again alongside Malkin and Kessel. Pittsburgh are at the top of their game at home and have a record of 9-2-1 and are still winning at home despite the loss of goalie Matt Murray to a lower body injury. New York have been strong in Pittsburgh within the past and will get their best chance to upset the champs with youngster goalie Tristan Jarry having to take the load since the injury to Matt Murray. Jarry and s 4-0-2 since being called up and will get his greatest challenge with a offensively strong Rangers outfit.

St Louis Blues at Montreal Canadiens (11.30am AEDT)
Two weeks ago I would have said that the Blues were a shoe in. But since the Canadiens decided to start winning games this could go either way. The Canadiens have won the last five and are easily on their best run for the year. Montreal aren't 100% convincing at home with a 8-5-2 record but are full of confidence coming in against the league's best.
St. Louis Blues haven't showed any signs of slowing down but were given a wake up call from the traveling Kings over the weekend. The Blues have been terrific all season and have led the Central Division all year until of late and are now behind Winnipeg in the standings. The Blues away record is one of the best in the league and they have also won the last three straight over the Canadiens including two games at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

Minnesota Wild at Los Angeles Kings (2.00pm AEDT)
The Wild travel to the Staples Center to take on the red hot LA Kings. The Wild have won the last two including a OT win against the Blues. The Wild have won four of the last five over the Kings and have had a lot of success on the Kings home ice. Minnesota strength this year has been on the power play, ranked seventh in the league. Can the Wild continue their form over the leagues best?
In the past week the Kings have dropped off the Capitals, Blues and the Blackhawks just to name a few. They have also won the last five which included four of those on the road. The whole team are bringing it at the moment including Jonathan Quick who has been terrific, giving up only three goals in his past two games. The Kings lead the league in goals allowed which shows why they are on top of the Pacific Division. Will be hard to beat in this one!
TIP: LA Kings H2H - $1.72 at Sportsbet
