After a huge Caulfield Cup weekend, it's time for more horse racing tips this time with a look at country races from Port Macquarie, Narrandera and Pakenham on Monday, October 17th.
Pakenham
Race 1 - My Pearl
Race 2 - Windbern
Race 3 - Relaunch
Race 4 - Butch Kissidy
Race 5 - Artistic Design / Rocksetta E/W
Race 6 - Emoji / Melodies Way EW
Best Bet: Race 1 - My Pearl
Hard to choose a best bet on this card but this is one of the worst maidens I've ever seen so if this horse has any ounce of ability - and his trial was positive enough - then he should be winning this.
Best Value: Race 5 - Rocksetta
Resumed behind the handy Swampland, who measured up very well in city grade on Saturday. She had nearly 300 days off the track so should be much fitter here and can feature in the finish.
Port Macquarie
Race 1 - Arabian Dancer
Race 2 - Oakfield Time
Race 3 - Slade Amigos
Race 4 - Fratellino
Race 5 - Ultimate Decision
Race 6 - Quartermaster
Race 7 - Blackridge
Race 8 - Wonderful Thing / Groomaze EW
Best Bet: Race 4 - Fratellino
Looks a two horse race for mine with Fratellio and Push The Sky Away. Fratellino has been around the mark the past two starts and provided he has some luck getting across from barrier 9 he should be hard to hold out.
Best Value: Race 8 - Groomaze
Went close last start and has a good record over this track and distance with a win and a 2nd. With luck from barrier 13 he can feature in the finish again here at $9.
Narrandera
Race 1 - Kruanui
Race 2 - Hay Grazer
Race 3 - Lawton Joseph
Race 4 - Ella Violet
Race 5 - Anotherwayout
Race 6 - Our Gladiator
Race 7 - Law of the Land
Best Bet: Race 3 - Lawton Joseph
Won his maiden first up before finishing 3rd in this grade last start. The step up to 1400m suits him here and handles a wet track so should be very hard to beat.
Best Value: Race 5 - Anotherwayout
Attacked the line last start after settling at the rear. She isn't anything special but I think the race is up for grabs with a $1.90 favourite that I'm very happy to be against.
