England vs Australia (Sunday 6am AEST)
The Wallabies are in the position they have been dreaming about. A victory against arch rivals the three lions will not only secure a position for themselves in the quarter finals of the Rugby World Cup but it would also ensure that the host nation England would be eliminated in the pool stage. It would be a bit of revenge after England was able to spoil the party for Australia in the 2003 Rugby World Cup final on their home soil.
The Green and Gold are unblemished in their two opening matches, which was expected as they faced Fiji and the lowly ranked Uruguay side where they crossed the white line on 11 occasions. They have been most impressive with their forward pack at the scrum, break down and rolling maul at the line out – however their line out has struggled on occasions. Pocock has been incredibly strong controlling the maul when the Wallabies are in an attacking position. This should spell danger signs for any of their opponents as if they are able to earn a penalty and get a lineout in a strong position they will go to this formation and attempt to push their way over for a score – as they were able to twice against Fiji with Pocock steering it from the back.
Pocock has also been dominant with his partner in crime at the breakdown Michael Hooper. These two are a constant threat for the attacking team because as soon as they make the tackle they are up on their feet and attacking the ball trying to get a turn over or earn their side a penalty. It is vital for England to get men to the breakdown otherwise these two will have a field day.
England lost their last match against Wales, which has put them in the situation they have now found themselves in where they will need to require a victory or their World Cup is over. The experiment of starting ex NRL star Sam Burgess at inside centre was clearly a failure as he has copped a lot of criticism from the media and he has subsequently been dropped back to the bench. Their scrum that has been so dominant in recent years against Australia is likely to not pose as much of a threat as the Wallabies scrum has become much stronger whilst the English scrum seems to be worsening.
The last two matches played at Twickenham between these two sides have resulted in victories for England. However, these two sides are vastly different to those that played and the areas that the Wallabies have improved in will result in them getting the very important victory.

Israel Folau is yet to cross the line in a Rugby World Cup match but he is a try-scoring machine when he is at his best. In his first season in Super Rugby he broke the single season try scoring record. He is a constant threat and always follows the football and if he gets his hands on it close to the line then he will back himself to cross it.
