Victorian racing on Wednesday heads to Geelong, where eight races have been set down. The track as of Monday afternoon is a Soft 5 but there is rain forecast for Wednesday, so it'll be interesting what the track comes up come race day. Adam Page brings you his best bets for the card below!
Geelong Racing Tips: Wednesday, November 27th 2024
Race 2: Wilsons Real Estate Maiden Plate 1100m - 1.35pm AEDT
I was taken by a recent jumpout win of 7 Zorro's Flight at Bendigo. He moved well throughout in the jumpout, interestingly ridden by Patrick Payne. Tricky draw, but hopefully with cover, a drag into the race, he'll take beating.
9 Egerton is a five-year-old mare only having start two, so she's clearly had issues but must have shown something to persist. She debuted at Ballarat when near the speed and tried hard but couldn’t quite get there when second to Lunar Module. Better for the run, gets B Shinn, very likeable.
4 Aqueduct should appreciate a rise to 1100m after debuting over 1000m at Mornington where he just got a bit flat footed when the sprint went on but kept finding the line and looked like a horse wanting more ground, which he gets here.

Race 4: Rex Gorell Volkswagen Maiden Plate 1300m - 2.45pm AEDT
9 Littlebirdie looks to have returned in pretty good order for Busuttin/Young. She debuted at Pakenham in the Autumn and was good in defeat when third. Has had a good break and her jumpout work at Cranbourne to get ready has been strong. Should press forward and take beating.
14 She's A Beauty looks a filly that has an engine under the hood. Debuted over this trip at Bendigo two weeks ago where she got back off the speed but kept chasing in a solid debut to run second. If this was 1400m, I'd say she goes on top, but better for the run under the belt, she commands respect.
7 illuminance comes back to 1300m after resuming over 1400m at Ballarat where she got into a decent spot in transit and presented to win but just couldn't quite see it through and had to settle for a second. Not sure she wins, but can run top four.
9 Littlebirdie

Race 8: Viatek Fujifilm Handicap 1500m - 5.05pm AEDT
13 Lario is the one to beat for Danny O'Brien. He ran over 1800m at Flemington on Cup Day where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never threatening, he did make up headway and was pretty good in defeat. Back miles in depth, the drop back in trip...hard to beat.
6 Gallant Prince will put himself on speed and take running down after resuming at Pakenham over 1400m when on speed and he gave a very strong kick but just couldn't quite see it through when second to Rubology. Leading contender.
5 Enxuto is a Griffiths/De Kock trained four-year-old that resumes. This guy is first up after showing solid enough promise in the Autumn/Winter where he ran well in town but couldn't quite measure up and win. 1500m fresh signals intent to my eye, so watch the market.
