Warwick Farm Racing Tips: Wednesday, September 20th 2023
Race 2: John Ramsay – 40 Years Service BM68 120m at 2:00pm AEST
(10) HIGHBORN HARRY ($61/$12) – 3YO gelding who won nicely last start to break his maiden. Has already been plunged in from $101. Has had a trial and drops back to 1200m where he finished 4th of 11 at his debut. Has had two nice runs since and looks well over the odds here. Worth a small play here.
(8) BALKANS ($3.00) – 3YO colt who is a last start winner from the Cummings stable. Clearly the outright favourite here, but has had an early drift from $2.50 to $3. Should only be fitter off last starts win and can go on with it here. Key booking of Zac Lloyd who has been riding well.
(10) HIGHBORN HARRY - E/W
$61/$12 (0.5 Units)
Race 4: All Too Hard @ Vinery BM72 1600m at 3:100pm AEST
(1) EASTERN GLOW ($7.00/$2.00) – 5YO who boasts a nice career record with 5 wins from 12 starts and a further 3 placings. Second in open grade last start and before that won by 2L over this trip and class. Gets back to the BM72 and claims 3kg which puts him only .5 of a kilo heavier than when he won by 2L. Looks over the odds after that win and second in open grade. Goes well.
(5) MR BUSTER ($2.70 – 4YO who resumes today for his first run in Australia after a nice career start in Great Britan with 4 races and finished in the placings on all occasions. Curious to see how he goes first in Australia before I get too confident. Market support and should go okay here.
(1) EASTERN GLOW - E/W
$7/$2 (1 Unit)
Race 6: James Squire BM72 1100M at 4:20pm AEST
(5) LA PITTRICE ($8.50/$2.50) – 4YO grey mare who resumes today where she has won previously. Looks suited here first up against these other mares. Comes in off a trial and should be fit enough to have a good crack over this distance. Will need to ping the lids from the barrier and can hopefully then dictate the race from the front. Goes well.
(2) ITHADTOBEZOU ($4.60) – 4YO mare who has been racing in some tough races. Finally gets back into some weaker racing and can play a key role here first up. She will need to lug 60kg, but draws well and I expect her to be around the mark against this field.
ALSO BACKING: (2) ITHADTOBEZOU - WIN (1 Unit)
(5) LA PITTRICE - E/W
$8.50/$2.50 (1 Unit)
