Returning to Warwick Farm on Wednesday for the NSW midweek race meeting. James Mcdonald will leave a big void in the jockey ranks while Brett Prebble, Tommy Berry and Tim Clark have strong books and can do some damage.
Blake Lalor is back with his best bets from Warwick Farm for the day! And if you're having a dabble today, then why not check out Dabble!
Warwick Farm Racing Tips: Wednesday January 11th
Race 1
(1) Step Aside has been runner up on both occasions in his short career. He’s a reasonable price to win this time in and probably gets his last chance before he’s relegated in my books to a serial placegetter.
(3) The Englishman has trialled well leading up to his return after running 2nd to Zou Tiger on debut. Difficult to know exactly how wound up he’ll be for this but he should be around the mark if he brings the same form from his debut.
(6) West Cork looks to have some sort of ability even though he was 4L off the winner on debut. He’s a big price here and with Tommy Berry aboard might be able to make up the placings.
(1) Step Aside win
$3.55 (2 units)
Race 2
(1) Maritima rocketed home for 2nd behind Super Chilled last time. She’s a horse that has been costly to followers but regularly starts at short quotes and presents as a betting opportunity here at rare e/w odds. Keen to give her a chance.
(2) Moonlight Grace is in a similar predicament to Maritima here but is slightly shorter. She could just be the better filly and I doubt there’ll be much between them here but I’ve sided with the filly drawn more favourably at a better price.
(9) Lalaguna may not have lived up to the hype that has surrounded her in her short career but that’s no reason to forget about her in this event. She’s got ability and this could be the day she shows it.
(1) Maritima e/w
$6.00/$2.35 (1 unit)
Race 7
(6) Recommendation receives the ultimate gear change coming into his 3yo preparation here. He’s been gelded and has trialled up very impressively indicating he’s ready to rock and roll 1st up. Will get every favour from gate 1 and looks hard to beat.
(4) Think About It is a 4yo gelding but boasts a very similar record to Recommendation here. They’re drawn side by side and look like the clear top 2 picks in this race.
(3) Mission Value won 1st up and can run well again. He was a big price there and steps up in class this time but winning form is the best form and apart from the top 2 in the market, this race looks fairly open.
(6) Recommendation win
$4.50 (2 units)
