We have a small seven-race card at Warwick Farm for New South Wales’ midweek meeting. There are a few horses I’m interested to see go around and plenty of debutants in the first few races who I’ll definitely have my eye on.
Blake Lalor has jumped on the ride this week as he brings us his best bets and racing tips for Wednesday's action from Warwick Farm.
Warwick Farm Racing Tips: Wednesday December 7th
Race 4
(1) Kouklara won impressively 1st up over 1300m at Rosehill. Should be good enough to repeat that performance or improve on it in this race which will make this horse very hard to beat.
(3) Ellenmac has been consistent of late finishing in the placing on multiple occasions this prep. She should be around the mark again from the good draw.
(8) Sweet Mercy races over the mile again here after not seeing it out very well last time. She may take improvement out of that first go over this trip but will need to improve to beat the favourite.
(4) Chenin comes into this race off the back of 2 consecutive placings over 1500m and 1800m. She looks to have good ability and can threaten in this race with the right run.
(1) Kouklara Win
$3.50 (2 Units)
Race 5
(9) Bak Da Man is crying out for a win and should get his best chance here from gate 1 with Dylan Gibbons’ 2kg claim. It’s a strong field and a large one but I’m confident this is the best horse in the race.
(4) Just A Jedi went very close 2 back behind Willinga Rufio where it was beneficial to be on pace. He may be better suited in this with the big field and potentially more pressure so has to be considered a top hope.
(10) Lord Desanimaux is a great horse on his day. He’s been mixing his form but will have to do far worse for me to forget about him and leave him out of my numbers.
(3) Agnelli seemingly hasn’t turned up in his last few attempts but can easily turn that around and bring a performance similar to his 2nd behind Witchachar Star which would have him right in the finish here.
(9) Bak Da Man Each-Way
$4.40/$1.95 (1 Unit)
Race 7
(2) Charity Spirit is a highly capable mare. She ran some super races as a 3yo including a 2nd placing in the G3 Adrian Knox. This trip is undoubtedly short of her best but with the quality she demonstrated at times as a 3yo she has to be considered a strong hope here and going forward this prep.
(11) Marillier won at Dubbo and was then close to winning over this trip last time from a wide gate. She’s drawn slightly better here and may be able to find a length which would have been good enough to win last start. Danger.
(9) Ponca is a filly in form after running 2nd at Hawkesbury and winning last time at Gosford. Looks to be on the way up and can impact this race significantly from the good draw.
(10) Kobenhaven gets the services of Tommy Berry again after he rode her to a 9th placing over this trip last time. I’m suspicious there’s a reason Tommy Berry is retaining his ride here so I’m not letting this one go around out of my numbers.
(2) Charity Spirit Each-Way
$12/$3.50 (0.5 Units)
