The Cowboys shocked many last week with a spirited ‘come from behind’ 18-12 win over the Raiders in Canberra. It takes their total to 3 wins for the year and has them inside the Top 8. It was another underwhelming display from the Titans, who allowed Manly to jump to an 24-4 HT lead, to only be denied late the opportunity to draw level. The inconsistency this team displays on a weekly basis is yet another reminder of their potential but also their shortcomings.
The Cowboys are slight favourites for this game but have just won 1 or 3 games at home this year. Only 2-points behind them on the ladder, the Titans have underwhelming victories against the Warriors and Tigers to their name. They are also winless from 3 road games this year. Much like all games involving them this year, the risk outweighs the reward. They are just as likely to dominate this contest for 80 minutes and change their season narrative, as to be outplayed and fall short of victory.
The balance that the Cowboys currently have across the field appears to be working well for them and they should win. As defence is optional for both teams at times this year, expect this score to be high.

Match Preview
It was hard not to get caught up in the Tigers upset victory over the Eels last week. Adding to the achievement was the fact that they’ve looked less competitive against weaker opponents. One win doesn’t make a season, but confidence is a key commodity in rugby league and that victory will add to this team ahead of this fixture. It will be needed, as the Rabbitohs appear to be finding their feet after a slow(ish) start to the season.
Without creating too much attention, they have been taking care of business in their matches and have been performing well. Their most recent display against the Bulldogs was expected but the ability to overcome a slow start and play with poise says a lot about this team moving forward. They are the superior team in this contest, but you cannot forget the two games last year where the Tigers caused headaches for (and almost defeated) the Rabbitohs. The Rabbitohs are not the finished product just yet and can still leak points.
Back to the idea of confidence, this may just keep the score closer than expected.
