Adelaide 36ers vs Illawarra Hawks
Friday 7:30pm AEST, Adelaide Entertainment Centre
Adelaide are coming off a couple of disappointing and costly road losses in a row that has really hurt their chances of making the playoffs. To make matters worse, Josh Giddey has opted to sit out the rest of the regular season to focusing on the upcoming NBA Draft where he’s projected to be a top 10 selection.
Illawarra have been in some really solid form of late as they look to continue their push for a playoff berth. They built up a nice little three-game winning streak over Rounds 16-18 before they had their bubble burst by the ladder-leading Melbourne United in their most recent outing.
The 36ers have been solid in recent weeks but have been outclassed in two of their three meetings with the Hawks this season and will find it even more difficult without Giddey’s playmaking. As a result, we’re happy to be with the Hawks to secure an important road win here.

New Zealand Breakers vs Sydney Kings

New Zealand returned home for the first time this season in Round 18 and boy did they make the most of it with an 89-81 win over the Kings. It’s been a really tough year for their entire organisation, so we expect they’ll be looking to finish off strong and give their fans at home something to cheer about.
Sydney are in some of their worst form of the season at the worst possible time at the moment. They’ve lost four of their past five games, three of which have come against teams they’re vying with for fourth place. The Kings have now slipped out of the top four and have just three games left to get back in there.
This will be the second meeting between these teams in the space of a couple of days, both of which are being played in New Zealand. The Breakers were too good in their first meeting with the home fans behind them and we expect them to put in another winning performance the second time around.

Brisbane Bullets vs SE Melbourne Phoenix
Saturday 8pm AEST, Nissan Arena
Brisbane continue to dig deep as they make a late push for a playoff berth. They were impressive winners last time out against the Wildcats to make it three wins from their past four games. The Bullets have been getting great production out of Lamar Patterson of late, which has taken a lot of pressure off Nathan Sobey who’s having a career year.
South-East Melbourne got some revenge against Melbourne United in the latest Throwdown, which made it three wins on the spin for the Phoenix. It’s been an important winning run they’ve been on over the past couple of rounds, as it’s all but shored up a top four finish.
Phoenix look like a lock to finish in the top four at the moment, but that’s not the case for the Bullets who still have it all to play for. On their home floor and in a must-win game, we have Sobey and co. getting the job done to keep their playoffs hopes alive.
