Now that the Sydney Autumn Carnival has finished our attention turns south this weekend where there is some quality G1 racing in Adelaide as well as a good supporting meeting at Sandown.

Horse Racing Tips: Saturday, May 1st
Sandown Race 4
Very keen to see (3) Grand Promenade stepping up to 2400m here on the bAck of two very good runs over 2000m. Was only narrowly beaten in both of those by some in-form horses and looks ready to peak today. Is a winner over this trip and should enjoy the run of the race from gate 6. Looks one of the better chances of the day.
(3) Grand Promenade
$2.50
Sandown Race 8
Thought (3) Approach Discreet was a very good chance in this. Was a huge run 1st up at a big price and went straight into the blackbook from that run. Is a deadset Sandown specialist, unbeaten from 3 runs at the track and is always better performed with a run under the belt. May want it further/wetter but I think at around the $6 mark, he looks a good chance.
(3) Approach Discreet
$5.50
Sandown Race 9
I’m going to give (8) Vowmaster one last chance. He promised the world and has delivered nothing this prep but his last couple of runs have been extremely good without much luck. Arguably should’ve won last start and loved the way he attacked the line once he saw clear air. Draws a gate finally and drops back to 1000m where he has had success before. One last chance for him today.
Morphetville Race 6
(8) Minhaaj was very good first up before not having much luck last start in a strong race here at the track. Will be ready to peak here 3rd up and her main rival drops from 1600-1200 which I’m happy to be against. Looks the best horse in the race and the $4 looks a bet.
Morphetville Race 7
Happy to put (11) Rubisaki on top here and looks one of the best value bets of the day. Was another runner who screamed to back them next time out after only seeing daylight at the 100m mark to flash home at Caulfield. Is the best 1200m horse in this race and will only come on from that fresh run. Happy to side with her and be against a few of those shorter in the market.
Hawkesbury Race 5
Assuming she opts for this race instead of the 1300m, (5) Athiri looks a big chance here. Was ridden forward in a good Queensland trip at the end of last prep and think they can adopt similar tactics here from the low draw. Looks the best horse in the race and that Krone form now looks very strong.
Hawkesbury Race 6
(3) Adelong looks another great value chance today. Drops back to her let distance today and was always going to struggle running in the worst part of the track fresh. Performs well with a run under her belt and can be the one who gives a good sight a nice EW Price.
