NBL Round 18 Betting Tips
New Zealand Breakers vs Illawarra Hawks (Thursday 5:20pm AEDT)
The first game of the final round sees the New Zealand Breakers host the Illawarra Hawks. This will be a bit of a sour contest with both teams now out of finals contention. The Breakers lead the season series 2-1 over the Hawks and will have a chance to close it out at home on Thursday.
The Breakers have had a disappointing campaign where they never really fulfilled their potential. They’ll end up with a losing season with the best possible finish being eighth. Meanwhile, the Hawks are in a fairly similar position to the Breakers, although not many predicted being a finalist during all the pre-season hype.
These teams faced off in Round 17 in what turned out to be a really easy win for the Breakers on the road. It showed that they’re willing to put in their best performance regardless of if they can make the finals or not. Now on their home deck, we expect them to get the job done once more.

Melbourne United vs Cairns Taipans (Thursday 7:50pm AEDT)
Second up for the round we’re making a play on the Melbourne United vs Cairns Taipans match-up. United will be looking to sweep the season series with a win in the fourth and final game against the Taipans.
United kept their minor premiership aspirations alive with a crucial two point win over the 36ers in their last outing. That win keeps them level with the Wildcats on 17 wins, but just behind them on the ladder due to percentage. The Taipans also won their most recent game against the Bullets, which snapped another long losing streak.
Melbourne United have everything to play for and will be boosted with home court advantage. On the other hand, the Snakes season has been over for a long time now and will have one eye on the post-season celebrations. We expect United to put in a dominant performance here.
Melbourne United -9.5

Perth Wildcats vs Adelaide 36ers (Friday 9:50pm AEDT)
The third match of the round is arguably the most pivotal as the top placed Perth Wildcats take on fourth placed Adelaide 36ers. The Wildcats have a chance to clinch the season series over the 36ers with their third win in four games.
The Wildcats have regained form at the perfect time, winning each of their last five games coming into this round. Their most recent win came in overtime against the Kings, with reigning MVP Bryce Cotton absolutely taking over. On the other hand, the 36ers will be playing their most crucial game of the season as they look to clinch a finals berth.
It's a big game for both teams, but more so for the 36ers in our eyes. We’ve seen teams in the 36ers position win these do-or-die type scenarios time and time again, and we believe they have the talent in their roster to cause an upset here. We’re happy to take them on at the spread for a bit of insurance.
