NBL Round 17 Betting Tips
New Zealand Breakers vs Adelaide 36ers (Thursday 5:20pm AEDT)
The first of two Thursday night games has the New Zealand Breakers hosting the Adelaide 36ers in Auckland. This is the final game of a four game regular season series between these teams this season. The Breakers currently lead the series 2-1 after pinching Game 3 on the road.
The Breakers all but sealed their fate in Round 16 with two losses to Melbourne United. They’re now effectively out of the finals race in what has been a disappointing 2018-19 season. Meanwhile, the 36ers won their only game of Round 16 against the Taipans. They’re now in fourth spot and have everything to play for on Thursday night.
It’s the time of the season where you have to favour the teams that have something to play for. In this case, the 36ers must win this game and we expect them to come out harder and get the win on the road.

Brisbane Bullets vs Illawarra Hawks (Thursday 7:50pm AEDT)
Second up on Thursday night we’ve got a huge encounter between the Brisbane Bullets and the Illawarra Hawks. Brisbane currently lead the series 2-1 as they enter their fourth and final meeting of the season.
The Bullets have really shot themselves in the foot with four consecutive losses. They looked like a sure thing to play in the finals but now find themselves up against it in fifth spot. On the other hand, the Hawks have been hit in miss lately with three wins and two losses in their last five.
There’s everything to play for in this one with fifth vs sixth on the ladder going head-to-head. The winner will drastically help their finals case, while the loser’s season will be all but over. In such a high stakes game, we favour the team with the crowd behind them. The Bullets haven’t been great lately, but they’ve demolished the Hawks in their last two meetings and should be too good at home.

Sydney Kings vs Melbourne United (Friday 7:50pm AEDT)
The lone Friday game in Round 17 is a big one, with Sydney Kings hosting Melbourne United. United have had the wood over the Kings for some time now and have won all three meetings against them this season.
The Kings clinched that elusive playoff berth in Round 16 with two wins over the Bullets. Meanwhile, United did the exact same, but their two wins came over the Breakers. Both the Kings and United come into this in the same position and are now fighting for home-court advantage during the finals.
Although United have had the wood over the Kings recently, the games have been extremely close and could’ve easily gone the other way. Instead, we prefer to make a play on the Unders market for Total Points here, which we feel is 5-10 points too high. Expect a low scoring grind with these teams on Thursday night.
