NBL Round 9 Betting Tips
Brisbane Bullets vs Sydney Kings
Saturday 13th March, 5:30pm AEDT
Brisbane Bullets are coming off a victory against the 36ers to make it three wins on the spin and five from their past six. Nathan Sobey was huge again in their most recent game with 30 points on 73% shooting as he continues to push his case for a Boomers guernsey.
Sydney Kings were deplorable in their recent game against the Hawks, scoring just 69 points en route to their third loss from their past four games. Jarrell Martin returned from injury after missing six games, but didn’t feature in the second half as part of his minutes restriction.
These clubs met earlier in the season in Brisbane and it was the Bullets who were able to negotiate a three-point win. They’ve only gone and improved since that game and are the form team of the competition at the moment, which makes them great value to win this game at near even money odds.
Illawarra Hawks vs Melbourne United
Saturday 13th March, 8pm AEDT
Illawarra Hawks returned to some of their best form last time out against the Kings, winning by 20 points in a fantastic four quarter performance. Sam Froling was a beast in the paint with 20 points and six boards, helping his side to their second win from their past three games.
Melbourne United played their part in a thrilling Throwdown against the Phoenix, but ended up going down in overtime to lose back-to-back games for the first time this season. United remain comfortably at the top of the ladder, but injuries are certainly starting to take their toll.
The Hawks were back to their best on the defensive end against the Kings and that spells danger for a United team that has been struggling to score the ball of late. We’re expecting the outcome of this game to be determined by each team’s ability to score in the half court and for this to be a defensive slugfest.
Perth Wildcats vs Adelaide 36ers
Sunday 14th March, 4:30pm AEDT
Perth Wildcats are gearing up to face the Breakers at the time of writing, but it’s this clash against the 36ers that we’re keen to hone in on. The defending champs have been good without being great this season, but look to be turning the screws at the moment with five wins from their past six games.
Adelaide 36ers have had a tough time dealing with injuries this season and come into this game in some of their worst form. They let one slip against the Bullets in their most recent outing, conceding 109 points in the process to make it four losses from their past five games.
This is a battle between one of the best form teams of the competition against the worst form team. It would take a huge effort from the 36ers to be able to upstage the Wildcats here and we just can’t see it happening on current form. We expect the champs to cover the spread in a big win on Sunday.
