Race 6: Evolve Interiors Handicap 1203m - 3.35pm AEDT
(1) Codigo should appreciate firmer footing and does have a touch of quality on his side. He ran on Moe Cup Day when finding wet ground and he struggled to pick his feet up late in the piece when down the track behind Flying Mikki. Back on firmer footing, will press forward and with a class edge, I think he can bounce back.
(5) Dubenenko doesn't win out of turn but she is a mare with good talent. She ran on Horsham Cup Day when off the speed and trucked before being angled into clear air and she tried hard but couldn't quite finish the job behind Naval Academy. Hard to beat in what looks a winnable race.
(7) Esecutore will be better for the first up run at Murray Bridge where he did work in the run to land near the speed and hit the front at the top of the straight, giving a good kick but just couldn't quite see it through and tired late. Better for that under the belt, he can bounce back.

Race 7: Shamrock Hotel Kyneton Handicap 1203m - 4.10pm AEDT
*SCRATCHED* (5) Master Montaro is a quirky animal but he has class on his side and looks to be humming. He had a recent jumpout win at Pakenham when near the speed throughout and wide but was trucking before being clicked up and away he went, proving quite dominant in the run to the line. He goes well fresh and has found a winnable race.
*SCRATCHED* (12) Overactive looks to have returned in good order. He resumed on Geelong Cup Day when off the speed and finished his race strongly, just missing out on the win when second to Barber. Better for the run...staying at 1200m is the knock but the form around him reads well.
(4) I Am War is a very interesting runner. Trevor Andrews trained gelding that resumes, having not raced since the Manikato last year when down the track and outclassed when last behind star mare Imperatriz. He is a horse who can sprint well on the fresh side and his trial work has been more than encouraging.
Race 8: Kyneton Cup 2006m - 4.45pm AEDT
Stack of speed engaged, I think it sets up perfect for (8) Mathew. He was six weeks between runs when racing over the mile at Moe last time and just looked in need of the run but kept finding the line in a really good effort. Fitter and up in trip, good speed in front, he'll get his chance to finish over the top and be strongest late.
(4) Promises Kept has found positive form and he can go on with it. He comes through the JRA Cup at The Valley where he had the soft trip in transit and tried hard but just couldn't quite see it through behind Future History when second. He'll press forward and has class.
(1) Keats is the likely leader and will take catching, which was the case in the Moe Cup, being on speed and was trucking before being asked to go and he kept going, running rampant. If he can maintain that form, he'll be around the mark.
