It's a fairly quiet day of racing with Donald and Goulburn the only two tracks hosting racing in Australia. Nevertheless, Luke Krahe has picked out his best bets for each track below!
Horse Racing Tips: Tuesday, October 8th
Donald Race 2 (Market)
(5) Sign Seal Deliver has only been to the races once and gets out to the mile at career start number two. That debut run was at the big track at Ballarat and although he started double figure odds in a harder maiden than this, he was supported late down to an SP of $10. He had the inside draw and kicked through to lead, railed well into the straight and was only run down late. His condition may have just got the better of him at the 1400m first-up, he looks the leader again. A little worrying that John Allen goes on, he has been known to not be as positive as other jocks. If he does push him out at the start and finds the front, they won’t be running him down.

Donald Race 6 (Market)
With (9) Medieval Miss a winner on Monday I expect that she will be scratched for this, (1) Smart House goes on top. He won on debut before a couple of ordinary performances at prep one, he was then sent to the paddock and resumed at Mildura a fortnight ago. He was heavily backed and was well in the red at 64 grade, led and although coming off the fence in the straight and challenged, he came away and was strong through the line. He has to carry the grandstand here but Martin Harley should be full of confidence after winning a black type race on Saturday. There is a little speed inside him here but I expect that he will push on and run them along throughout, he can win again.
Goulburn Race 1 (Market)
A small field to start the day at Goulburn, a BM66 handicap with only the 5 runners engaged. (4) Vee Eight doesn’t win out of turn, but he looks to have turned the corner at his last two preps. He was back in 58 grade against the boys when resuming and was huge in defeat carrying 60kg from the extreme gate. He was trapped three-wide without cover just off the speed and although he had a torrid run, he took the lead in the straight before being run down late into second. There doesn’t look a lot of speed in the race and hopefully Robyn Freeman-Key rides him positively, if she can just get them rolling before the turn and make it more of a staying affair.
Goulburn Race 6 (Market)
I am very keen that (7) Capri Lane can finish off the day a winner and get you into Wednesday with a fistful of cash to bet with. He had trialed well enough before his debut run at Orange a couple of weeks ago. He jumped well enough from a middle gate before driving through and finding the lead. He kicked on the corner before wandering around in the straight, but was strong enough late for a good debut win. The second horse that day was on debut at huge odds, but went on to score by a big margin at start number two showing the form out of the race should stand up. Fitter for the run, going up in trip, I expect that he will be well backed and lead all the way.
