Horse Racing Tips: Sunday, November 17th
Canberra Race 6 (Market)
(4) Trust The Process is lining up for career start number four, he was runner-up at start two before coming here for a similar race last start. A Class 1 and maiden where he took on some previous winners and after working early to get a good spot in the run, he let down nicely again in the straight and was way too good. He tackles a similar field today and although he does go up in the weights, he draws well and shouldn’t have to be used early. (2) Tresse D’or looks the main danger, he won his maiden two back then went to Goulburn in a Class 2 last time, he was well beaten into second but that winner has come out and run a ripper in the Group Three Spring Stakes at Newcastle yesterday. Don’t have him going around a loser for you.

Canberra Race 8 (Market)
A few of these come through the same race here at Canberra last time so we can line up the form with them. (5) Overflowing was double figure odds in the race but ran on well into second, he gradually improved from the 600m to the turn and ran past a few but never really looked like winning. He looks suited getting out to the 1300m, he actually ran past (1) Mohanna who he meets again today. He draws wide and will go forward, hard to see him beating home Overflowing from the draw and the extra trip. The query runner is the first starter for the Gai/Bott team, (8) Maggie’s Girl. She has trialed fairly in town, gets the blinkers on from the wide draw on debut. I can just see her going forward and putting the speed on, suiting the horses that will be mid-field and running on.
Donald Race 6 (Market)
Only the seven horses going around in the feature of the day at Donald in the Cup, it looks a competitive affair but I am very keen on (3) Prince Ziggy to salute, anything in black figures looks a steal. He resumed at Geelong and was beaten by the star Harbour Views in a harder race than this, he made ok ground from the back along the rails. He then was at Geelong again last time when second-up, sat a lot closer and was up on the speed, kicked clear early in the straight and never looked like getting beat. That was on a heavy track so he can handle the sting out of the ground, he was going well in these Country Cups earlier in the year, he can add a Donald Cup to go with the Stony Creek Cup he won earlier in the year.
Geelong Race 7 (Market)
(7) Bombshell Belle debuted at Hamilton four weeks ago, he had a good run in transit until she was held-up at a vital stage approaching the turn. She got out at the furlong and ran on well to place, only beaten a length and a half. She then went to Mortlake and was a very well backed favourite with today’s jock Teo Nugent. She sat up outside the speed, put the leader away easily and went for home early in the straight to bolt in 2.5 lengths. The horse that started at the top of the market with her that day had the cold sit and was beaten almost three lengths, has since come out and bolted in to win its maiden at Hamilton by 4 lengths on Tuesday. She should go forward from the wide draw, it wouldn’t be the worst result sitting in the breeze where Teo can control the tempo of the race. This looks an easy transition out of maiden grade, expect her to be well backed.
