Caulfield will host a nine-race program on Saturday with track curators predicting a Good4 track for gallopers. There is a little rain around so there is always a chance of a downgrade though with horses getting underway in the first at 12:10pm (AEST). One of our best bets of the day comes up in Race 3 with the Alexander Rae topweight going around in the distance race of the program, running over 2400m. The Bletchingly Stakes is the feature of the card which comes up in race seven.

Caulfield Racing Tips: Saturday, July 27th 2024
Race 3: Tobin Brothers Celebrating Lives Handicap - 1:20pm (AEST)
(1) Phats raced over a similar distance at Flemington on July 6 and despite getting a long way back in the run, ran on well over the concluding stages into 3rd when starting at big odds. That was his first Australian run and should have improved off that effort. Yendall is oof and Shinn is on and from a wide barrier in 9 and with more weight on his back, the Embelish x Blueberry Hill Gelding will go back from the draw and start to take off at the 500m mark. He has won on a Good surface previously and should have settled into the new stable after being in the country for a month.
(2) Bluestone rises 200m in distance which looks ideal after he ran on well to score at Bendigo last start. It's his first try on the Good which is a slight concern but he will likely settle a couple of lengths in front of Phats.
(4) Pure Grunt gets the inside draw and may push up to a midfield settling position in this one. The Keys family have a training and ownership interest in this one and he should run a good race.
Race 7: Bletchingly Stakes - 3:50pm (AEST)
(2) Recommendation we tipped on here a fortnight ago and he ran superb easily beating his rivals by 7L in the Group 3 Monash Stakes. From barrier 2 here, he should be able to roll forward again and put pay to this lot on ground which he has won 4 times from 12 starts. He rises 100m to the 1200m and he loves this distance having won on 4 occasions from 10 tires. He is currently $1.50 but may even get shorter in the 24 hours leading up to the race.
(3) Mornington Glory is better on Dry ground and may get that here. He was 9.5L behind Recommendation last time but I think he will only be 2 or 3L behind him this time with more fitness behind him.
(5) Marble Nine won at this track last start and if there is a track downgrade he probably goes up into 2nd pick because he is 2 from 2 on Soft tracks.
(2) Recommendation
$1.50 (4 Units)
Race 9: Sportsbet Feed Handicap - 4:55pm (AEST)
*Scratched* (15) Eloyou for Russel Cameron and Damien Lane will start favourite here and the good thing about this horse is, it doesn't seem to worry him on how track conditions are. He has won on Wet and Dry tracks and he positions up handy in the run. Barrier 10 will see him go forward again and Lane may position him in the “one one”. Lane has always finished in the top 3 when on top of Eloyou.
(13) Sandpaper will settle in the same areas as the favourite and they might fight it out. He drops 3kg in weight this time and has raced in harder races than this.
(9) El Rocko has won 2 in a row but barrier 14 is the worry here. He likes the distance and the track but it is likely he will get caught wide. Jamie Mott is on top and will need to produce the ride of the day to win.
