Hurricanes vs Sixers Betting Tips
Hurricanes
Friday night will mark the opening game of the year for the Hurricanes, who will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing BBL08 campaign. After losing the final to the Strikers in BBL07, the Hurricanes failed to make the final four last season after some uncharacteristic losses throughout the season.
Some key changes for the Hurricanes this season include the loss of fast bowler Jofra Archer, who is now a mainstay in the English international outfit. Matt Wade will also miss a large portion of the season with international duty in the Test team.
In replacement, the Hurricanes acquired the services of South African star David Miller, who has been in fantastic form on both the domestic T20 circuit and in limited overs cricket for his country. Even without Wade, the Hurricanes still possess a batting line-up capable of beating any team in the league, with D’Arcy Short, Ben McDermott, Miller and George Bailey set to feature prominently.
The South African will likely bat at three/four for the Hurricanes and provides great value to be the top runscorer.

Sixers
The Sixers got the job done at home in their opening game of the season, beating the Perth Scorchers comfortably. After winning the toss and choosing to bowl first, the Sixers bowled the Scorchers out on the very last ball of the innings for a total of 131.
Sixers opener and wicket-keeper Josh Philippe made light work of the small total, blasting 81 off just 44 balls to guide the Sixers past the total with a whopping 30 balls to spare.
With Philippe in great touch and backed up by Daniel Hughes, Moises Henriques and Englishman James Vince, the Sixers have a very capable batting line-up, but their strength truly lies in their bowling unit. Steven O’Keefe has been a revelation with the new ball and should continue to put great pressure on in the power-play while the pace trio of Ben Dwarshius, Sean Abbott and Tom Curran is the most underrated in the league. The Sixers bowling power-play is elite and should have D’Arcy Short scrambling early.

Prediction
The Hurricanes are usually pretty solid at home but we are a little concerned about their bowling attack this season. Riley Meridtih has shown the ability to be a strike bowler at times but he’s also proven to be wildly inconsistent.
If the Sixers can put the clamps on Short and the Hurricanes top order in the first power-play like we expect them to do, they should have enough depth in the batting department to win this game. Love the value of Sydney here.
