Australian Open Fourth Round Betting Tips

E Navarro vs D Kasatkina

Emma Navarro has to be running out of lives. She has now come back from the brink against StearnsWangand Jabeur, winning all match-ups in 3 sets. The American was one of the stories of 2024 with her ability to rise up the rankings and assert herself as part of the Top 10, however it hasn’t been the strong start to the year that perhaps many, myself included, were expecting. Against Jabeur, Navarro had 13 winners and 32 unforced errors, whilst the Tunisian generated 58 unforced errors across the course of the match. Through the first two rounds, there was a significant disparity in favour of unforced errors to winners from both Stearns and Wang. Will she be so fortunate today?

If Navarro is only able to generate 12 winners against Ons Jabeur, I am a little concerned about her ability to generate enough winners against Daria Kasatkina in her current form. Kasatkina got off to a slow start against Yulia Putintseva, but once she got going, the match ended up being one way traffic for the Russian. Whilst she doesn’t possess the power of most on tour, her court coverage, defensive ability and general craft is well above average. You need to beat her, she won’t hand you the win very often.

Personally, my preference here is to take Kasatkina, who won't afford Navarro the type of errors the American's opponents have delivered this tournament, sometimes in key moments. This is a big opportunity for the Russian.
