Weather
Melbourne - Cloudy, 27 degrees
Adelaide - Light rain, 28 degrees
No major concerns with the weather. Both Melbourne and Adelaide will be warm, and the light rain shouldn't have much effect. Let's play ball!
Where to Attack?
A couple of one-sided matches on this slate offer a couple of good stacking opportunities.
Richmond are 8-goal underdogs to the Suns and have conceded points all over the ground this season. A popular play will be to load up on the talented Suns players.
Melbourne are also underdogs and have been rather pitiful all season. Melbourne are above average in points conceded across all positions except for the ruck where Max Gawn is doing his best to keep this side together. In particular, Melbourne leak to inside midfielders and opposition defenders.
Both Adelaide and GWS have been rather stingy in terms of fantasy points so we’ll be looking to target the other two matches.
Game script: Gold Coast and Fremantle stacks
VALUE PLAYS
Isaiah Dudley ($6,000) looks lively for Freo and unfortunately he burnt us last week when he was named as the sub! Still got involved in the last quarter and if he gets a full game against Melbourne then he should hit value at minimum price. Just be prepared to pivot if he’s named as the sub again.
Will Graham ($8,690) is one I like at the Suns as he knows how to lay a tackle! Wish he was still in the middle as he’s been moved forward this season which isn’t always great for fantasy scoring, but against the Tigers this week, he should have plenty of opportunity to get busy up forward, lay some tackles and hit the scoreboard.
MID PRICED PLAYS
The Suns have a number of viable mid-priced options who you might like to sprinkle if you’re able to run multiple lineups.
Ben King ($10,110) is going to be in the thick of the action against the Tiger cubs and should kick a bag. The only problem is that last week he wasn’t able to connect much up the ground, so only scored a 55 with just 6 disposals despite kicking 5 goals against North. You’ll want to see him get involved more this week and push towards a ton.
Ben Ainsworth ($10,910) is a quality player who has started the season slowly but bounced back with a solid 22 disposals and 85 fantasy points last week. Has a ceiling that can produce ton-plus scores so I like him in this matchup as an option for the Suns up forward.
Ben Long ($10,080) is also having a good season but his scoring so far has been reliant upon goals, and Bailey Humphrey ($10,950) is a fourth mid-priced option from the Suns who brings a good tackling floor.
PREMIUM PLAYS
Matt Rowell ($15,970) / Noah Anderson ($16,880) are going to feature prominently in Gold Coast stacks on Saturday. These two young guns are on a meteoric rise in the competition and should run wild against the Tigers. You get the feeling that the Suns are hungry for success and aren’t going to ease up here. The only risk might be if they want to put them in cotton wool late. Expecting big ton-plus scores from both.
Caleb Serong ($15,510) / Andrew Brayshaw ($16,340) are the alternative midfield premiums if you want a Fremantle stack. Brayshaw in particular has gone 110, 119 and 123 in his last three weeks, so he’s on fire and will be a popular pick. Serong gives you a bit more salary relief.
