2024 AFL Round 14 Preview & Betting Tips
Adelaide vs Sydney
Saturday 7:30 AEST, June 15th, Adelaide Oval
For Adelaide, a lot rides on tomorrow night in order to head into the bye with confidence and set themselves up for a strong backend to the year, whilst their finals door remains ajar. They welcome back a fully fit Izak Rankine to help bolster their chances.
Sydney remains unchanged from weeks gone by and with good reason, because the winning formula keeps producing results and has landed them convincing front-runners two games clear on top of the ladder.
It’s good humour to look back on their only loss of 2024 coming at the hands of Richmond, who, surprisingly have bragging rights over Adelaide as well, after they came up trumps at this same venue last Thursday.
Last time these two sides met was also at the Adelaide Oval, with Sydney edging out the Crows by the barest of margins – a solitary point. If that’s anything to go by, we can expect a mouth-watering encounter right ‘till the very end.
With both sides sitting at opposite ends of the spectrum it’s no wonder the odds are skewed in favour of the Swans, but, in terms of the price on offer for Adelaide, much of their hope can be attached to the home ground aspect.
I think the engine room of Sydney’s have enough firepower to assume control from the outset, leaving the Crows having to fight tooth and nail to stay in the hunt, which they’ll do within the parameters we’ve stumbled across.
Choosing to ignore head-to-head markets for obvious reasons (there’s no meat on the Swans bone) but liking the way the big win little win is talking to me.

Errol Gulden 25+ disposals – Might’ve just turned the corner form wise, was going steadily up until this point but last week's efforts mirrored his Brownlow contending year. Should cover the line easily enough.
Izak Rankine 20+ disposals – Has been given the green light to return from a hamstring injury which sidelined him for just over a fortnight. Will be hungry and raring to go before another week off with his team’s bye.
Ben Keays 1+ goal – If you’re a regular reader of my column you’ll notice Keays’ is often written in goalscoring markets. Admittedly doesn’t always hit the scoreboard but presents at value worthy of a throw at the stumps.
