Brisbane Broncos
Their past two victories say a lot about where this club is at. They are a tough team, full of talent and should be a contender towards the end of the season. They have to navigate the Origin period with minimal issues, but they are well placed on current form to feature deep into the Finals.

Penrith Panthers
Class got them over the line against the Dragons and depth assisted them in overcoming the loss of Cleary. Having their halfback out for an indefinite period may be a blessing in disguise, as he will be available for them in the Finals. The rest of the squad needs to ensure they do not lose touch with the Top 4.

South Sydney Rabbitohs
Impressive in overcoming a HT deficit against the Titans. When they clicked into another gear in the second half, their class was evident. A few injuries to key players will cause some issues but they can cover short-term losses. Their attack is one of the best in the competition.

Cronulla Sharks
Upset by the Broncos at home. They were outplayed for 80 minutes by a superior team. The loss could be a good chance for them to assess what needs to be addressed to be successful at the end of the year. They have another tough game ahead against the Storm in Round 15.

Parramatta Eels
Had a week off with the Bye and were performing well before that, winning their past 2 matches. News about Dylan Brown over the weekend poses a huge challenge in coming weeks. They sit 13th on the ladder, and it can easily unravel without a key attacking weapon.

New Zealand Warriors
Bounced back to form with a commanding win over the Dolphins. It is no surprise that the win coincided with a strong contribution from Shaun Johnson. A tough road trip to Canberra awaits but if they produce a similar standard, they will be a hard team for anyone to defeat.

Melbourne Storm
Humbled by the Cowboys in a game where they were never in the contest. It doesn’t get any easier next week, with the Sharks waiting and coming off a loss. Some parts of that loss were concerning. Conceding 45-points suggests their problems are large.

The Dolphins
Handed a reality check by the Warriors as they were defeated by 22-points. They will want to avoid similar performances as they are on the verge of slipping out of the Top 8. An awkward game against the Sea Eagles awaits in Round 15 and it could set a standard for how they close out the season.

Canberra Raiders
Scored a narrow win over the Tigers 20-19. They played well in the first 70 minutes to set up the win but will be disappointed with how they closed the game out. They host the Warriors in Round 15 and will want to consolidate their spot in the Top 8 with a victory.

Wests Tigers
Worked hard to fight back from an 18-point deficit against the Raiders. Plenty of pleasing individual performances to provide positivity moving forward. They need to keep their momentum going and have a tricky test against the Titans ahead. It will be a measure of just how far they have improved.

North Queensland Cowboys
Now that is a great Cowboys performance! Dominant against the Storm at home and will want to build on a fantastic attacking display. Despite allowing 20-points, they were dazzling in their attacking movements. They take a lot of momentum into their Bye in Round 15, before an Origin-impacted game against the Panthers.

Newcastle Knights
Had the Bye this week to prepare for a tough Round 15 match against the Broncos. This game will be a measure of where they are at. A loss will create further distance from the Top 8, which they are currently 3 points adrift of.

Sydney Roosters
Scrapped their way to a 1-point win over the Bulldogs. Unconvincing at times but a win, nonetheless. The performance of Tedesco was most pleasing and now it is up to others in the team to lift as well. A tough game against the Panthers awaits but they it couldn’t have come at a better time.

St George-Illawarra Dragons
Good against the Panthers, as they finally played closer to their potential. They will need similar performances if they wish to climb up the ladder. They currently sit last but are a much better team than that position suggests.

Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles
Unlucky to drop positions without playing a game. The Sea Eagles need the Trbojevic brothers playing for them to be a chance in any game. They will also benefit from tightening up their defence. A tricky game against the Dolphins awaits and they can ill-afford to lose that.

Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs
Had their chances against the Roosters but failed to close out the match. They are performing well enough without being at full strength. They will likely miss the Finals this year, but they are a team which is building strongly towards 2024.

Gold Coast Titans
One half of positive play isn’t a suitable standard to hold in the NRL. They are still only 2 points out of the Top 8 and desperately need to find some consistency. The Titans are capable on their day, but those times are few and far between.
