As NSW acknowledges the Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend, NRL fans are treated to a Monday afternoon fixture. It has two old rivals facing off against one another but unfortunately for the Bulldogs, they are nowhere near the quality that their team once possessed at the peak of this rivalry. Either way, this NRL betting preview will hope to conclude a positive weekend for punters following along with the tips.

Match Preview
It has been several weeks now since coach Barrett departed the Bulldogs and unfortunately for them, their performance has not improved. Last week they were defeated 30-18 by an understrength Panthers team, carried for majority of the match by the performance of Matt Burton. If they are to find winning performances, support is needed for their star recruit/playmaker.
The Eels enjoyed a week off last week following a 28-20 victory over the Raiders in Round 12. Posing as a difficult road trip, the Eels did enough to combat what their opponents challenged them with. They are well placed to finish towards the top of the ladder and will want to continue winning performances like that one to further their confidence. To support the odds ($1.15 v $5.50), the Bulldogs appear unable to match it with the Eels.
It is interesting to note that the Roosters defeated the Eels back in Round 10 and it was that same Roosters team which was upset 16-12 by the Bulldogs in Round 8. Nevertheless, both teams have changed dramatically since then and it is difficult to see anything other than a comfortable Parramatta victory. Bookmakers have decided to test punters, setting the line at 16.5; it has drifted early and may continue to do so closer to kick off. The Eels should cover that but the better option at this point is just the 13+ margin.
