Fremantle vs Carlton Betting Tips
Optus Stadium, Saturday 22nd April, 7:40pm (AEST)
Fremantle
Injuries: Nathan Fyfe (Back), Matthew Johnson (Leg), Sam Sturt (Knee), Heath Chapman (H&S Protocols)
Injuries aren’t a massive issue for the Dockers at the moment. Obviously, Nat Fyfe is a big miss in their squad as he continues to rehab his back. Aside from him, Heath Chapman is the only other big absentee as the young gun has been placed in Covid isolation.
The Dockers looked to be in a good duel with the Bombers last start when they led by less than a kick at half time. However, the Purple Haze put on 66 points at the expense of just 21 in the second half in an absolute demolition job. That win made it three on the spin and four from their first five games in what’s been a fabulous start to the season. The Dockers are now inside the top four and look as though they belong there.
Carlton
Injuries: David Cunningham (Knee), Ed Curnow (Knee), Caleb Marchbank (Knee), Mitch McGovern (Hamstring)
Knees of their players are the primary concern of the Carlton fitness staff at the moment, with three players currently nursing that part of their body. Ed Curnow and Caleb Marchbank are the big outs for that injury, while Mitch McGovern is only a week or so away from recovering from his hamstring strain.
The Blues were playing inspired footy in the first half against the Power last weekend, putting up a whopping 78 points in the first half while conceding only 29. The tide changed dramatically in the second half when they were outscored 62-16, however, they still did enough to win by three points. That was the second time already this season that the Blues have given up a large lead to win narrowly, which is a trend they’ll need to correct. In saying that, the Blues faithful couldn’t have asked for much more through five rounds as their team holds a 4-1 record.
Match Prediction
The Dockers continue to fly under the radar despite an immense 4-1 start to the season that sees them sit in third place on the ladder. While the Blues are also 4-1 after five rounds, they’ve had a couple of very close wins that they could’ve easily lost. With that said, I believe the Dockers are the form team in this matchup and getting them at near even money in this fixture is too good to pass up in my opinion.

Prop Bets
Michael Frederick has made a bright start to the season as a small dynamic forward for the Dockers and has made some impact on the scoreboard. He’s kicked two goals in three straight games and remains good value to repeat his efforts.
Michael Frederick 2+ Goals ($3 Ladbrokes)
James Aish continues to get plenty of ball off half-back as a rebound defender and has already hit the 20+ disposal mark twice this season. He loves playing on the big ground at Optus Stadium and is a good price to collect 20+ disposals once again.
James Aish 20+ Disposals ($2.02 Ladbrokes)
David Mundy is ageing like a fine wine and has continued to prolific in the midfield for the Dockers this season. He’s averaging 24.5 disposals per game but has had 28+ in each of his last four games at Optus Stadium. Love his value once again here.
David Mundy 25+ Disposals ($1.80 Ladbrokes)
