Adelaide 36ers vs Tasmania JackJumpers Preview & Betting Tips
Monday 19th December, 7:30pm AEDT, Adelaide Entertainment Centre
Each playing their second and final game of Round 11, the Adelaide 36ers and the Tasmania JackJumpers will lock horns at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on Monday night.
This will be the second meeting between these teams this season, and despite already having a win over the 36ers in Adelaide under their belts, the JackJumpers will start as the slight underdogs ($2.25 vs $1.60).
Their previous meeting came midway through October in a game that was pretty much a non-contest. The JackJumpers outscored the 36ers 32-10 in the first quarter and never looked back as they went onto record a 97-72 wire-to-wire victory.
Josh Magette was the standout player in that game with 23/4/7 to go along with four steals. Kelly, Doyle, McVeigh and Weeks all scored in double figures as well. For the 36ers, Craig Randall top scored with 18 points, and he’s obviously no longer with the team.
Wins over the 36ers are starting to become a regular occurrence for the JackJumpers. They’ve won the last three meetings with them including two in a row in Adelaide. The overall head-to-head count is now 3-2.
A lot of water has gone under the bridge since their meeting in October, and the 36ers will be expecting to be far more competitive this time around. They recorded a thumping 31-point win against the Bullets in their first game of Round 11, which improved their record to just one game below 500 at 7-8.
Meanwhile, the JackJumpers will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss at home against the Taipans on Saturday night. They led by over 80% of that game but just couldn’t execute down the stretch as the Taipans finished on a 10-0 run.
Failing to execute in crunch time is something you normally don’t associate with the JackJumpers, so perhaps their last quarter collapse against the Snakes was just an anomaly.
Regardless, they seem to match up extremely well against the 36ers and also love playing on the road (6-3) where they have a far better record than at home (2-4).
With all of that said, getting anything better than $2 for the JackJumpers to defeat the 36ers is good value in my opinion.
