NBL Round 2 Betting Tips
Brisbane Bullets vs Cairns Taipans (Friday 7:30pm AEDT)
The Bullets caused the upset of the round last weekend when they beat the Hawks on the road. They now get a fantastic chance to go 2-0 when they face last year’s Wooden Spooners. The Taipans looked on their way to an upset of their own in Round 1 when they led the Kings at the final change, but their scoring completely dried up in the fourth quarter and they went on to lose by eight points. This isn’t the sexiest of games to kick off Round 2 and we expect it to play out like that as well. The Taipans are a long athletic team that will stop a lot of opposing teams from scoring heavily, but they’re also going to have their fair share of struggles on the offensive end. We expect this game to go well under the points line to kick us off in Round 2.

Perth Wildcats vs Illawarra Hawks (Friday 9:30pm AEDT)
The reigning champs continue their title defence on Friday when they host the Hawks in Perth. The Wildcats won a thriller over United in a Grand Final rematch last weekend, winning by one point thanks to a Terrico White go-ahead three in the dying seconds. Meanwhile, The Hawks will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing loss to the Bullets last weekend. Lamelo Ball was solid on debut with a double-double, and Aaron Brooks filled it up off the bench with 23 points. Don’t overthink this one, the Wildcats are the much better team and should take care of business at home quite comfortably.

Sydney Kings vs Adelaide 36ers (Saturday 5:30pm AEDT)
The Kings won their opening match on the back of a fourth quarter surge against the Taipans. MVP Andrew Bogut was at his best on both ends of the floor, Casper Ware found his groove in his new colours and Jae’Sean Tate was impressive in his debut as well. For the 36ers, they’ll play their first game of the season after playing their NBAxNBL fixtures last weekend. The Kings have rest and form on their side and should be too good for the 36ers on their home deck. We're happy to take them to win by 10+ if the odds are there.
SE Melbourne Phoenix vs Brisbane Bullets (Sunday 3pm AEDT)
Phoenix will look to make it two from two when they host the Bullets on Sunday afternoon. They won an absolute nail-biter against their new rivals in Melbourne United thanks to a huge performance from Mitch Creek. Likewise, the Bullets were impressive in Round 1 and will be hoping to keep the ball rolling with two wins in Round 2. Phoenix are the slight underdogs here which is a bit of a surprise considering the Bullets will be playing their second game in three days. We’re happy to back in the new club to get the job done and continue their perfect start.

Illawarra Hawks vs Cairns Taipans (Monday 7:30pm AEDT)
The last game of the round is certainly not the best game of the round, but it could be a fun watch on Monday night. Lamelo Ball and the Hawks will be playing their second game of Round 2 when they host Nate Jawai and the Taipans who will be doing the same. This is a tough one to call as neither team were impressive last weekend. We believe each team will have an equal chance of winning, so we’ll be backing in the longer odds of the Taipans.
