NBA Betting Tips: Tuesday, 14th of December
Sacramento Kings at Toronto Raptors
Scotiabank Arena, 11am AEDT
The Kings have had a reasonable start under coach Alvin Gentry’s reign with five wins from 10 games. They have lost their last two on the road against the Hornets and most recently the Cavaliers, but both of those clubs are in some good form themselves. The Kings have no had six different streaks of 2+ losses this season which is why they’re down in 10th spot in the West.
The Raptors have had an up and down season to date but are currently on one of their better stretches of form. They were able to negotiate a tight win at home against the Knicks last time out to make it three wins from their last four games. The Raptors will be playing their seventh and final game of this long homestand on Tuesday where they’re currently 3-3.
These teams will be meeting for the second and final time for the season on Tuesday after the Raptors took their opening clash 108-89 in Sacramento. The Kings have been in better form since then under the tutelage of Alvin Gentry and are a good chance of causing a mini upset to kick off the big slate.

Milwaukee Bucks at Boston Celtics
TD Garden, 11:30am AEDT
The Bucks have somewhat flown under the radar despite having a really solid start to the season and of course being the defending champions. They only won five of their first 12 games but have since won 12 of their last 14 to surge into second spot in the East. Their record now stands at 18-10 which is currently the fifth best mark in the NBA.
The Celtics have struggled to generate any sort of meaningful momentum so far this season, which has led to plenty of rumours about potential change coming. They’ve lost each of their last three games coming into Tuesday’s clash, all of which have been on the road. The good news for the Celtics is that they finally return home where they’re a respectable 6-4 on the season.
Last time these teams met was in the second week of November in Boston where we needed overtime to eventually declare the Celtics as the winner. The Bucks have gone onto win 12 of their 15 games since then and will enter their second meeting with Boston as the team in far better form. We expect them to get revenge and are more than happy to be on them at an underdog price.
Washington Wizards at Denver Nuggets
Ball Arena, 1pm AEDT
The Wizards got their campaign off to a fantastic start with 10 wins from their first 13 games, but they’ve come right back down to earth since then with losses in nine of their last 14. Still, the Wizards have clearly exceeded expectations through the first third of the season and will have their sights set on securing one of the final few playoff positions at season’s end.
The Nuggets have unsurprisingly seen their form turn around since reigning MVP Nikola Jokic returned from injury. They went on a six-game losing streak when he was out but have now won four of their last seven. The Nuggets have had arguably the worst run with injuries of any team over the last six months and have done well to be 13-13 at this stage of the season.
The Wizards would’ve been favourites in this matchup if it was played 2-3 weeks ago, but on current form it’s the Nuggets who are clearly the better team. Jokic and the Nuggets also have home court advantage on their team and those factors alone should be enough for them to be able to cover the small spread on Tuesday.
