The Fremantle Dockers will host the Gold Coast Suns in the first of the two game AFL Saturday slate in Round 13. As always, PuntingInDanger has you covered with his AFL Round 13 tips for the clash below.
AFL Fremantle vs Gold Coast Betting Tips
Optus Stadium, Saturday 4.15pm (AEST)
Not the prettiest of matchups to kick off our Saturday slate but its footy nonetheless so we’ll do our best to give this one our full attention and hopefully pick out a few winners.
Match Prediction
The Dockers were gallant against the Bulldogs in Round 12, keeping the game pretty close for three and a half quarters before their opponents pulled away in the dying stages of the game. David Mundy continued his stellar season so far, racking up another 30 disposal game while youngster Josh Treacy was impressive, botting three goals in a solid performance.
After losing three straight games, the Suns bounced back in Round 11 to beat Hawthorn by 37 points at the SCG. They were then treated to a week off with their bye coming in Round 12. They could get a massive boost this weekend with star midfielder Matt Rowell in line to make a return to the line-up. Gold Coast could also get Sam Day and Jack Bowes back, which will strengthen their side massively.
The Dockers are battling an extremely long injury list at the moment. Nat Fyfe injured his shoulder in the loss to the Dogs and will be out for an extended period while they are also missing Nathan Wilson, Sam Sturt, Joel Hamling, Griffin Logue and Brennan Cox.
The Suns start as slight favourites on the road, which is probably expected given the fact that they are on the back of a 2 week break and they are getting some quality players back into the line up. I’m finding it pretty tough to pick a winner here and I think these two teams are pretty evenly matched, especially over in Perth.
I like ‘any other result’ in the wire to wire markets as I think this game will be played in quite a back and forth manner.
