Match Preview
The Power had a tough test against an in form St Kilda outfit on the weekend and although it wasn’t super convincing, they did pass that test. Ollie Wines was once superb once again in the 13 point win, racking up 36 disposals and kicking a goal to further cement his case as one of the 2021 Brownlow Medal favourites.
One of the major criticisms of the Power this year is that they have failed when facing tough oppoenents, and over the past month there has been arguably no one better than the Saints. St Kilda ranked as the top defence in the league since their by, so that win on the road should quiet some of the Power critics, for a little while at least.
The Pies season was done and dusted but there is always plenty on the line when they come up against one of their oldest rivals in the Blues. Carlton were just too good for them in Round 18, recording a 29 point loss at the MCG in front of no crowd.
Jordan De Goey was the best for the Pies and continues to improve since moving permanently into the midfield earlier in the season. He had 31 touches and 12 marks in the loss, but ultimately needs more help in the middle of the ground if the Pies are to be competitive.
The Power are battling some key injuries at the moment, with Orazio Fantasia, Kane Farrell, Robbie Gray, Steven Motlop and Tom Rockliff all set to be out this week. The young duo of Zak Butters and Connor Rozee could both return from knee injuries this week though.
The Pies are nearing closer to a return from star defender Jeremy Howe, but will still be without him this week along with Callum Brown, Tyler Brown, Josh Daicos, Will Kelly, Darcy Moore and Josh Thomas. It’s an extensive injury list for Collingwood, but one that they will no doubt be taking extra precautions on given they are already ruled out of the 2021 finals.
The Power start as 21.5 point favourites on the road here, which would have been a little too high last week, but after a solid win against the Saints at Marvel, they have proven they can get the job done away from Adelaide Oval. The Pies are battling too many injuries at the moment and Port are looking to springboard into the finals with a good run home. Expect them to be up and about here and cover the 21.5 point line.

Dan Houston for 20+ used to be one of our favourite same game multi legs but he has been a touch down on his production of late. The bookies have adjusted though and are now offering Houston 15+ markets, which we think is free money. The running defender has passed 15 touches in 13/16 games this season.
Taylor Adams has been solid since returning from injury in Round 15. In those four games, he has racked up disposal numbers of 32, 34, 31 and 24 and still has some meat left on the bone for 25+ this week.
Ollie Wines has been arguably the form player of the competition this season and was dominant again in the win over the Saints. He has had 30+ disposals in 11 of 17 games and his last three in a row. Averages 32.8 for the season.
